Very happy that Cobb signed a discount deal for GB (I'm also a huge GB fan), but also glad that the Texans avoided overpaying him (if we even had a chance). Cobb is a great player and usually a mismatch on the field, but 12 mil for a slot receiver who isn't a legitimate #1 and played w/ the best QB in the league is too much.
No biggie. He's primarily a slot receiver playing with an elite quarterback and on a high powered offense with plenty of weapons. There's no telling how good Cobb would be away from Green Bay. Jeremy Maclin is the best free agent WR on the market IMO. But I don't think the Texans are in a position to be throwing big money around at receivers at this point.
Maclin would be a great addition also. Then draft a burner like Dorsett in the 3rd to put in slot and definitely help on kick returns.
Watt got $100 million, 51.9 guaranteed <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Ndamukong Suh will sign with <a class="hashtag" action="hash" title="#Dolphins">#Dolphins</a> on Tuesday based off parameters around $114 million and $60 million guaranteed, per sources.</p>— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) <a href="https://twitter.com/mortreport/status/574616959779631104" data-datetime="2015-03-00T17:05:33+00:00">March 0, 2015</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The youngsta wanted to be on a contender not a pretender or mediocrity team. Smart move on his behalf.
Barring breakdown in formal contract negotiations, Ndamukong Suh will sign with Dolphins. Deal around $114M, $60M gtd. (twitter.com)
I'd go all in on Julius Thomas and draft a WR. Parker/Searcy at safety would be a great move. Vets with potential; meaning they have been productive when given the opportunity. Sign another vet WR to play with Hopkins. I really wish Andre would stay. He's actually a great fit here footballwise
I think Mallett will get around 5-6 million per year. Heck we gave Dan Orlovsky 3 years $9 million to be our backup.
Our division rivals may be getting better: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>As for Nick Fairley's next home, I've heard the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Colts?src=hash">#Colts</a> are offering around double the guaranteed money as anyone else.</p>— Ian Wharton (@NFLFilmStudy) <a href="https://twitter.com/NFLFilmStudy/status/574626507332542465">March 8, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Two sources indicating TE Julius Thomas is just about done/signed in Jacksonville</p>— Jason Cole (@JasonPhilCole) <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonPhilCole/status/574626150783270913">March 8, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Other news: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Sources indicate strong mutual interest between Torrey Smith and 49ers; nothing finalized one source called them frontrunner among suitors</p>— Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) <a href="https://twitter.com/RavensInsider/status/574629645724880896">March 8, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>The Eagles have set the parameters of a deal for Maxwell that consists of 6 years $63 million with $23.5 mil fully guaranteed. $13.5 year 1</p>— Jayson Braddock (@JaysonBraddock) <a href="https://twitter.com/JaysonBraddock/status/574620146947387392">March 8, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Not sure it's news at this point, but Darrelle Revis is down to <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Patriots?src=hash">#Patriots</a> or <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Jets?src=hash">#Jets</a>. The texans haven't changed one bit. Feels like they will be worst roster wise going into next season. Another quiet free agency.
