It remains to be seen what we do in FA, but right now it looks like we're going to have holes at WR2, CB2, and RT (because we don't look interested in re-signing Newton either). Those are all positions people have us using first round picks on in their mocks. But we've never really drafted a good WR after the first (hello Martin, Posey, and Jacoby). This is a fairly weak draft for OT. We can't hope to fill all of our holes through the draft, especially with our track record after the first round. Just kind of sucks if we let good players walk because that just creates one more hole to fill.
The sky is not falling...yet Tania Ganguli @taniagaguli 9 hours ago Friday free agency scorecard: Active negotiations today between Texans/Derek Newton and Texans/Kareem Jackson. Very possible both return. __________________
KJ going to talk to other teams now. If we lose him, the sky will be falling. You don't let CB1s go when you have the cap space to sign them. He can't be asking for that much more.
You also don't over pay for players when there is a cap. KJ is good, but if someone is offering him $12 million per season let him go.
Actually I would say it's the other way around. If he's smart he would test the market knowing that the Texans want him back, the CB free agent crop is weak this yr and quite a few teams have a lot money to play with. He should be able to get 10-12 million a yr. And I'm not certain he's a true CB1. JJO still often gets assigned the WR1. Just depends on the matchup.
I hope we can get derek back. this "wasted" pick is a top 4 rated tackle in free agency and can play guard. no way is k jax worth 10-12 mil. if someone pays it, i hope it's not us.

Welp...im going back to being a Packers fan if that happens. The team i was a fan of before this crap ass organization came along
now the sit down they had with andre about him only catching 40 passes makes perfect sense. how many passes is it humanly possible with hoyer at qb.. 40 please let this just be agents throwing pee into the wall hoping it sticks.

I can't imagine many moves worse than signing Hoyer, he's not even as good as Fitz as sad as that is.
