Agreed. Canaan is gone, no longer here. Enough of the rueing, pissing and moaning, Rockets are fighting something much more significant - a title. Next man up, that's Nick Johnson. Had high hopes for Prigs, but he is not the future. Split his minutes with Nick already and let's see who can help us best in the post season.
The thing is why did we trade him AND a 2nd round pick for KJ Daniels? He doesn't even play and sits on the bench as a cheerleader. Also isn't he a FA after this year?
If he had played for Houston against Atlanta, how do you know if his defensive responsibility wouldn't go off for 49 points?
It was a stupid trade that got us nothing. It was done just to make a trade. We was and still would be the 2nd best PG on our team and our best 3 point shooter. I seriously question managements decision to make bad trades just to make a trade. We got worse not better with these trades.
Because Atlanta doesn't play that way. They share the ball, move the basketball, get everybody involved, and wear the defense out collectively with ball movement. And they don't have Russell Westbrook and his helter-skelter, drive the ball down and fling it up or force it up mentality on their team.
theres no way you would know who won in that trade at this point. you're criticizing this move based on nothing.
Concerning our desire to win a championship this season and not looking ahead to next season and beyond: 1. Do you feel that having Prigioni riding the bench gives us a better chance of winning a championship than Canaan riding the bench? 2. Do you feel that bringing in Prigioni to ride the bench and be available as a backup gives us a better chance of winning a championship this year than we would have had if McHale had played Canaan early and often and let Canaan develop in the rotation for us this year?
Prigs actually gets minutes depending on the matchup. Canaan got nothing outside of the 4 games in the beginning of the season. So yes, Prigs gives us a much better chance since he is actually in the rotation. Your argument would have been better using KJ, the guy Canaan was actually traded for. But KJ is Morey's backup plan for Brewer/Ariza next season. Neither KJ or Canaan would be affecting chances to win championship THIS season.
neither question really matters because canaan wasn't playing at all. so the point was nobody will know who wins this trade until both players are consistently in a rotation especially with KJ being a rookie. it's not like Prigs wasn't traded for canaan
I'm not making an argument. Just asked the questions. They were in regards to the point guard position. We replaced Canaan at the point guard position with Prigioni at the point guard position.
Canaan would have been a better choice as backup PG over Prigioni, IF he got playing time. He didn't, so Prigioni is the better choice since he will play.
Yes to both. Pablo brings the IQ that the bench needed so much. Of course, he's not steve nash but make things clear and the offense became fluid. Not bad for an old men..
Any time you care to stack up your record of deal making against Daryl f-ing Morey's, by all means, go ahead.
Prigioni gives us next to nothing.I am sorry I will always feel we downgraded the position a lot. To bad they didn't play him and destroyed his confidence. Why do you think will in any way help this team?
