Another high usage, low efficiency night from Westbrook with key mistakes down the stretch. He's amazing, but he's not the absolute God the media thinks he is.
I'm just saying in games where Westbrook goes off, the Thunder typically lose. He gets selfish at the end as seen by that air ball.
It doesn't really matter too much, but I guess Dallas so the Rockets can jump back up to the 3 seed. Won't know about the seedings until down the stretch but It's looking more and more likely a 4/5 matchup will feature the Clippers, who we obviously don't want.
Those last 3 plays are more about why WB will never be an MVP, ever. He's his own worst enemy. For this year in particular, he's "in the conversation" but has no chance to win over Curry, Harden or LeBron. WB's 43/8/7 go up in smoke with 3 bad decisions in the final 10 seconds. 1 Idiotic airball. Should have shot the ball a little sooner. 2 Bad decision to help when you leave a hot shooter WIDE OPEN for a game-winner. 3 Stepping out of bounds speaks for itself. SMH.
Ah, I see. It's just a shame that everyone sees the numbers... the ungodly numbers Westbrook puts up. Harden needs to be the NBA leading scorer so he isn't forgotten.
The only thing keeping Harden afloat is Harden has the biggest media blowhards Bill Simmons and Charles Barkley advocating him as the MVP. But Barkley just found out before the Thunder/Bulls game that Harden wasn't league leader in scoring so I don't know how he feels about that .
Looking at this, I really can't blam Jones....Aldridge is unguardable. Easily the best player in Portland
Zach Lowe has him atop the race as well, which is an opinion that matters, but he he's not enough of a public figure to really matter to casuals. There just seems to be too much slurping of the media darlings right now. I guess we all knew this would be coming, but it is what it is. Harden deserves it as he is truly the "most valuable player" to his team, but he's caught in a bit of a no man's land right now... He isn't having the team success of Curry and he's not having the statistical craziness of Westbrook. That probably hurts him.
