Meanwhile, Canaan just went off for 31 (8 made threes) @ OKC, a possible 1st round opponent for us. It's an absolute joke that we traded away a player that was potentially an answer to addressing our PG issues because the head coach refused to develop him due to politics.
McHale put Canaan in the doghouse for no reason. Another example of his inept coaching. Canaan was the ideal spot up shooter next to Harden in a 3 ball oriented offense. No surprise he is lighting it up. He has a pure stroke. DMo was also in the doghouse for a long time until McHale's hand was fired to play him with all the injuries to our big men.
Am I the only one that noticed James isn't getting foul calls anymore? The announcers have been calling it a "playoff atmosphere " but it's just an excuse to take away a huge element of Hardens game. If Joward doesn't get back soon and play well enough to demand a double team, we're not making it out of the first round. Our wings are way too inconsistent shooting from three
He's getting plenty of calls when the officiating is adequate. Shot 18 FT's against Cleveland the other day. If officials do their job, Harden gets plenty of calls, because more often than not he will draw plenty of contact. If they choose to not do their job correctly, or are just too incompetent, then he won't get the calls. It is a very rare occurrence where Harden isn't getting enough contact to warrant a large amount of free throws. It is what it is...
The team's saving grace this year is defense. Last year's team just with a little better defense makes it to the 2nd round. This year's team is monumentally better on D especially with a healthy Dwight and improved TJones.
Kind of a small sample size for both arguments. Still doesn't create for others or play much defense (granted I know he tried). Plus there is a Million canaans out there.
I usually defend Mchale, but he is completely stubborn when it comes to going with his guy. He's like Kubiak.... Once Terry came in at PG, our offense went to ****. For some reason he doesn't play Pablo. I understand somewhat not playing Canaan because of the old "he's young" excuse. But Pablo is experienced, is a very good floor general and is better than Terry on defense. Whenever we had Pablo playing we've done very well. Since the Clippers game? where Pablo had a bad stretch when he checked in Mchale took him out of the rotation.
There's no point in this thread anymore. If only Leslie was a great owner who cared about winning, but no. He's actually fine with a first round exit for 3 straight season while pissing away H2o time together. I was hoping maybe that first round exit that is definitely coming would force Leslie's hand, no such luck. The coach who don't know to draw up a play, is bound by Leslie to stay..
So LMA sits out with 4 fouls and Harden rarely sees the ball. It's all ISO from inferior players and jacked up 3's McHale - "Guys, guys, guys, play harder, play harder" "Clap Clap" Rubbish coach is garbage
McHale is not a smart coach and is stubborn and slow to make adjustments (sitting Dmo and Bev more through this bad stretch and playing Prigioni and Dorsey more). Prigioni and Dorsey need to be playing more because they can help in areas that Dmo and Bev are deficient in, rebounding and play making. McHale keeps sending total liabilities out there right now in Dmo and Bev. It's just stupid. The front office is even more stupid for the premature extension this year.
all we do is run iso's for harden why aren't we running more harden iso's sorry, but bad coaches don't coach a team to homecourt in the toughest conference in recent history w/ half their starting lineup missing significant time. mchale may never lead us to the promised land but when you speak in nothing but hyperbole you lose all crediblity.
