hes had a good few recent games, we've seen this before during his tenure here. I'm rooting for him to play the same way the rest of the year but history shows he will probably go through a bad stretch soon. it's who he is.

    I agree with this post.
Only thing I would add is that if Lin were to have a future in LA, it would almost certainly only be as a backup. So in a way having Lin play off the bench is actually the best way for the Lakers to get a good look at what Lin has to offer.

If Lin keeps this up, he's going to get a double-digit annual contract.

Lin is Lin as we all know, he has confidence issue, he needs the ball, his game relies on pnr offensively. In the right system he can be great and make his teamates better, otherwise he's netural at best. For whatever reasons Lakers let him play his game for a strech so here we go, but nothing we didnt know and see before. He can be an average starter in a lottery team, or a solid 6th man in a playoff team.

I would like to point out though, even if you take his best couple of games this stretch, tonight at 23/8, or the other night with 25/6, that's still less than what Harden averages nearly every night. So there's that.

However, I did see some highlights on NBA.com and while his best games right now resemble Linsanity, it does look like he's better than he was then, he shoots a higher percentage, and he has less turnovers.

If he can keep this up for the next 20 games, then it will be clear that Lin is a guy who needs the ball, he needs shooters to provide spacing, and some bigs who can play pick and roll. In such an offense he's better than average, otherwise he's nothing but a rotational bench player. I don't think the Lakers would run such an offense permanently, I think right now they're just trying to keep the fans entertained(while still losing games).

problem with JLin is he is only good with he is dominating the ball. however no team is going to win a championship with him dominating the ball

In other words, Lin is like most of the good PGs in the NBA. Nearly all of them need the ball, some good shooters for spacing, and lots of PnR.

You're probably right. The Lakers want to tank, so they'll have the unique distinction of being the only team in the world to force their best player to come off the bench.

Nearly all good PGs need to dominate the ball.

As to whether Lin will ever win a championship, that's up to the basketball gods. Every title winner needs lots of luck.

TBH, any starting PGs other than Harden(yes he is a pg), CP3, Curry, Lawson, T.Evans and Irving relies on pnr and fastbreak offensively.

This time. No Harden. No Kobe. No Boozer. Only Nick Young can duplicate the old days for Lin:

"Just gimme the fxxking ball and get outta the way!!!"

Good PGs would have put up bigger numbers and won the game against a scrub team like the Hornets.

    Just finished watching the recording.

Jeremy played very well. It is almost like Linsanity part 2 (has to have bigger body of work though).

He finally find a coach that is willing to duplicate the scheme, personnel and spacing of Linsanity for him. I am happy for him.

But on the other hand, it was horrendous substitution pattern by his coach. Jeremy played from the middle of third quarter to the end of the game. He really shall have a break some time in the 4th quarter.

The entire Hornets starting 5 would start for the Lakers. Lin had a+6 today. This game as Scott described, was lost when the Lakers started the 3rd flat.

Return of the LOFs! Like weeds, they always come back. There's nothing like a random five or six game stretch every couple years to breathe life into delusion.
