Spoiler Stamper storyline was useless. The author storyline was wayyy dragged out. It wouldn't take a good writer that long to figure out the POTUS / FLOTUS relationship, since the author spent so much time with Frank. Is Jackie out of the show? Is Gavin? Is Dunbar going to be elected a SC Justice? Is season 4 going to happen? The overarching plot of the POTUS/FLOTUS marriage reaching a breaking point is a solid cliffhanger, but this season just didn't feel as strong as S1 and S2. There are so many questions still left to be answered. I assume an actual road to the presidency is going to be the focus of S4, if it happens. FU will have to heal his marriage with Claire, fight off the GOP candidate, focus on AmWorks. Aside from Russo and Zoe Barnes in the first season and Rachel in the latter half of season 3, there haven't been many characters that I've cared about - aside from FU and CU, ofc. I really hope the show finds its S1 magic again.
That's actually exactly how I feel. He turns into a very different character going from one extreme to another without much of a on screen transition.
Just finished it. While I liked this season better than Season 2, it just seemed kind of pointless in the end. Seemed like nothing more than a filler season.
So finished it. The Frank in this season for the most part is toothless compared to the Frank of seasons past. Of course he has more to lose now that he's president--but his machiavellian nature is a ghost of itself, and frankly, thats the fuel the show runs on. Claire's arc was as subtle as a baseball bat to the forehead. Almost everything in her life from the gay russian prisoner to the book author just so coincidentally put her at odds with Frank. If this season was about putting Frank down a few notches so he can rise from the ashes and conquer again, I get it. But it doesn't resemble the Frank Underwood of season 1 and 2 who was a force of nature destroying everything in his path, and there was certainly nothing that showed his transition from that into this mere mortal afflicted from all sides by fate.
Finished s3 and honestly thought Netflix decided to just release half now and the 2nd half later. Also CU is Data.
The President has the right to make appointments that don't require confirmation while the Senate is in recess.
Claire leaves Frank, next season Frank finally comes out of the closet after yet another gay moment this season.
It was the same Frank, just with way more responsibilities and it overwhelmed him. He was just dealing with morons in Congress anymore, he was trying to display his power to a WORLD audience now, with much smarter players. Frank also wasn't surrounding himself with the amazing staff he had around him in previous seasons who were a big part of his manipulation (Doug was a shell of himself, Remmy wasn't all in anymore, etc). I liked this season a lot. Obviously not as good as season 1, but way better than season 2 imo.
lol this! but overall i really like this season. I believe this season was a set up for a huge crazy next season when he wins the re-election then the final season will be the downfall of underwood
A murderer for president. It's not a big stretch. I quit watching after the Mara character was pushed in front of the subway by this goon.
