What if that homeless guy grabbed at a cop's gun? Would you wait to find out if he pulls the trigger? You'd take the shot because you have a split second to make that call. You can't remove yourself to analyze it from an armchair.
doh! Please don't quote that guy -- it means I have to read his posts. His mind is already made up even before we have facts. Simply dismiss his opinion.
I did say we have to wait for the facts... But most well trained police officers aren't going to let a homeless guy get their weapon. We'll see what happens... Which will probably be nothing.
The homeless need to abandon "skid row" for Rodeo Drive. I'm sure the movie stars and Hollywood upper crust will take care of them.
If the bum that got himself shot was anything like the window licker filming it then it's probably not much of a loss.
There isn't always a training scenario for homeless bum reaches for your gun belt in every specific situation and angle.

I have a very hard time determining what is exactly happening there and cannot make out if the suspect had grabbed one of the LEO's guns. If he really did that would be good evidence that he did represent such a threat as to require deadly force but I can't tell from the video. Again though I think this speaks to a larger problem of inadequacy in LE training where several officers cannot effectively subdue a suspect and even put themselves at risk where the suspect could potentially disarm one of them. Also the woman who picks up the nightstick and looks like she is going to swing it is perhaps the most foolish of all. There I can't fault the LE for taking her down and subduing her.
This is the inherent problem with this ignorant thread and the scenario; Everything the cops do these days is always under scrutiny. Shoot an unarmed person resisting arrest while restrained - Bad cop, police brutality. Beat an unarmed person resisting arrest while restrained - Bad cop, police brutality. Tasering an unarmed person resisting arrest while restrained - Bad cop, police brutality. Not hugging and singing Kum Ba Yah to an unarmed person resisting arrest while restrained - Bad cop, police brutality. No matter what the cops did, it would have been police brutality. If the cops would have simply tasered or beat his ass, there would not have been any shooting. Unfortunately this scenario quickly escalated out of control. This is what happens when people b**** about cops using non lethal means to subdue an unruly person. They get frustrated, **** gets out of control and out comes the guns.
Such a whiny b**** post. If six policemen can't handle an unarmed man without beating the **** out of him or shooting him five times then there's a serious problem.
You are retroactively analyzing the situation. Training or no training, the guy was probably on drugs and for sure he reached for the gun. He got what was coming. It's on camera and yes those cops did apprehend him the best they could. He was moving so quickly, it is hard to even get a hold of him. When someone like that grabs a deadly weapon, you are TRAINED to use deadly force if necessary. In this case it was. Get over it. You lose. Good day.
It's on two body cameras, according to official sources. So according to the information available, the guy reached for it.
what are you nagging about lefty mr i love police state? put body cameras on them and nobody be complaining. video don't lie.
I'm retroactively analyzing a situation but you conclude the guy was probably on drugs and for sure reached for a gun and got what was coming and the cops handled this the best they could? I lose? Get over it? Brilliance. What did I lose exactly oh internet warrior?
I have an issue w/the language of the guy recording it but I think it's absurd to say the language was more disturbing than the shooting. Regardless of whether the shooting was justified or not, the language(very distasteful) was not more disturbing than the shooting.
Absolutely uncalled for. No need for insults in your post to someone you've never met, talked to or know anything about but I guess you're just showing the classy way you were brought up. Bigtexxx was able to express his distaste for the language used by the person filming the situation w/o resorting to insults. Yet he seemed to get pilloried for it. Your words were much worse. No need for that.
