It's sad to see Derrick Rose's career derailed by injuries. Reminiscent of Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Brandon Roy, et al. I wonder if anyone in Chicago still clings to he hope he'll return to form.
Think he knows he'll likely only have like two years left no matter what procedure he'd chosen, so he doesn't really care. Just wants to make sure he can play without the meniscus tearin again in the near future.

They said the tear was very minor, pretty clear this was done so that he at least won't deal with torn meniscus again. And the short recovery time of course.

The worst kept secret in basketball circles. Gar Foreman and John Paxson have wanted Thibs out almost from the time that they signed him. They failed to offer a contract extension early on after Thibs had a lot of success. When they finally did offer Thibs a contract extension, he did not sign it for months which only caused further bad blood. Thibs is a control freak, he wants control over his team and whom plays and how many minutes. Foreman and Paxson want input on rotations and minute distribution. Fred Hoiberg is the close personal friend of Paxson and will likely be the Bulls next coach. Thibs will go where he has control over all the in game decisions. NY has been mentioned, I could see LA offering something similar and even a team like Brooklyn, New Orleans or Washington giving Thibs the contract he wants with the control he needs.
This is what I was thinking. Thibs has a breat defensive system but I can't help but feel the way he runs his players hurts the team even more.
Is it possible to trade for him but not designate him as the head coach, regardless of how butthurt he might be over it?
Yeah he was killing every workout the last two times he got injured. I imagine he'll force himself back this time since the Bulls are legit contenders, at least by Leastern Conference standards.
No, he would need to sign a new contract, which would mean he would need an offer he wants to accept.
