Didn't say 8 guys per team as good as Terrence. Somehow your mind twisted that up and produced that idea. Makes me question your basketball iq.
This reasoning sounds silly to me. Batman obviously has more of an understanding of DM than any of us here, including you. Is it reasonable to say DM doesn't let Batman or many people know his thinking on players tradability? Sure, but that certainly means you too. You're just guessing as to what our GM thinks about a player as much as the rest of us. To present as though you know or can guess the GM's thinking more than others here is disingenuous especially given there's someone here who not only actually knows the GM's thinking more than you, but actually has conversations with him and the reality is his take is quite contrary to yours.
I think that has to do more with being played at the 5. He's just not strong enough to bang with legit centers. I've noticed he's falls at the slightest contact....that's something he used to do a couple years ago when playing the 4. I think it's just his mentality as a finesse player (If you can't out muscle them....try to draw a foul).
"One of 250 role players in the league" 250/30 teams = about 8 players a team. DrNuegebauer is exactly right. If you believe Jones to be just one member of the group of "250 role players," then you are effectively saying that 8 guys per team are the same as him in that they are role players.
No I'm not. I'm saying he's 1 of the 250. Doesn't mean 8 guys on each team are better than him. That's what you want it to say. You apparently think he's one of the top 200.
You couldn't be more wrong either in your assessment of Jones or DM's. I'm going to leave it there. I bit my tongue all season while you posted about Jones and I couldn't do it anymore. I got it off my chest and I'm done though. If you want to keep going, people can decide who they want to believe. Or they could just watch Jones play. The proof of the pudding in the eating.
Pretty cheap to just say I'm wrong without saying what your assessment is, Batman. Not to mention what about my assessment of Terrence is so wrong. Just lame. No counter. Just 'you're wrong.' Very lame. What kind of player is Terrence, Batman? Since you know I'm so wrong. Go ahead and tell us what Terrence is and what he is going to become since you know I'm wrong.
Uh huh. You claimed his return would make no difference at all -- yet, we don't win the last two games without him. You've proven to be a poster who can never admit he's wrong, so yes -- my best bet would be that you hate the fact that he has made a big difference.
What I have claimed is Terrence is not a difference maker in this becoming a championship team. He's the 4th best big right now. Not true either. If I'm wrong I'll admit it. Show me what I've said wrong about Terrence. You can't do it. Because there's nothing there. I haven't been wrong about Terrence. You're drunk on the Terrence bandwagon my dear.
Pretty cheap to assume I haven't. Do a search or something. Read this exact thread or something. I posted earlier about what kind of player TJ is earlier in this very thread in response to the guy that thought he was playing in slow motion. He's a very athletic, very smart post player with the handles of a former PG that is playing out of his mind given his age. All he ever needed was to slow down and let the game come to him. People say D-Mo's indispensable somehow and Jones isn't? They've both come into their own this year and Jones was on the road to a monster season before he got hurt. The knock on him has been that he's been inconsistent, that his effort hasn't always been there on the defensive end (though it sure as hell has on the offensive end), and that he used to play too fast and make a lot of mistakes. Those are all young guy problems. And he is overcoming them this year before our eyes. At the beginning of the season he'd have a great game then a bad one then a great one then a bad one. Then he goes out with a really serious and scary injury and comes back averaging a double double plus 2+ blocks. Not after taking time to get into rhythm, but as soon as he saw minutes. And thereafter not every other game. Every game. And he is creative as hell at finding new ways to score. It shouldn't be a big leap to figure out how much Morey values TJ; when you regard his age and advanced stats he projects out to become an all-star. That doesn't mean Morey wasn't after someone else to start at 4 while he continued to develop (and D-Mo did too) -- maybe, maybe no -- but he wasn't ever going to trade away a player like Jones without getting equal or better value back and that's not an easy thing to do. The kid is on his way to stardom. As for the accusation that it's cheap how I haven't posted my opinions about TJ, I also posted about him in the Josh Smith for 6th man thread in which I said Smith probably wasn't even our best non-starter at the time and that that honor probably belonged to TJ who only needed to get healthy. Here's a tip: it's not necessary to spam the board with baseless criticisms and false and baseless rumors in order to give your assessment of a player. I've done it in about three current threads. But I suspect you only read posts when they're about you. Why I just spent time defending myself to someone like you is beyond me but there it is. Look at his age, advanced stats, and maybe watch him play the game and you'll realize that he's not just an average player and he's not one of 200; he is as valuable or more valuable to us as/than any player on our team apart from H&H. And incidentally when Daryl and I talk basketball he's not trying to make trades with me. We're friends. He's not trying to sell his players to me. When he's frustrated with one of them he might tell me that too and he does. And he knows that I won't betray his confidence which I haven't. I didn't tell you Daryl's opinion of TJ apart from saying it had nothing in common with your own and that he rates him much higher. But you didn't need my help with that. If you can't be bothered to watch him play just get out a calculator and do some analytics. We have a very good player that is becoming great before our eyes. It doesn't flatter you to pretend otherwise. We're all watching the games.
You said he would be traded several times and you were wrong. You stated he wouldn't crack the 8-9 man rotation. And what happened, he became the starter. You were wrong about that. He averaged 14-8 last season and you are still talking about he has no skill set and etc. Well Mr. Holic you are wrong about that. The only thing you are correct on is his jumper. Even though he do hit a few shots outside the paint. I'm just saying
