Sorry about that. Copied from another thread, guess it didn't get the full link. http://www.lowes.com/pd_44754-49769...ntURL=?Ns=p_product_price|0&page=1&facetInfo= http://www.homedepot.com/p/Char-Griller-Wrangler-Charcoal-Grill-2123/203072207?N=5yc1vZbx8h http://www.homedepot.com/p/Brinkman...-Set-Smoker-810-3015-S/204442310?N=5yc1vZbx8h There was another smoker I found with 1,280 sq in of cooking surface for about $160, but that just seems entirely too big.
The San Antonio Brisket Bandit has struck again, the 4th or 5th place he's hit in the past few months. Breaks into bbq joints in the middle of the night, takes the meat right off the pits, raids the cold storage, then loads up on beer. This time he got something like 175lbs of brisket, 75lbs of pork butt, 50lbs each of sausage and ribs and 2 kegs of beer. The owner said "he has good taste" and "he forgot the jalapenos". The whereabouts of tinman are unknown at this juncture.
How good is Rudy's BBQ? I've never been but there is one in southern colorado and I've been dying for some good text bbq lately. Wondering if its worth a trip
it's surprisingly good. I mean you have to keep in perspective that it's a major chain, but I really like their moist brisket
I wouldn't classify it as a major chain. That said, it's certainly decent bbq. I've alway liked their ribs. Has any one tried Corkscrew in The Woodlands? I've heard great things....
Just finished a slab of Rudy's moist, it's around 4$ more per pound than last time I had it. At this rate why not just drive down to killens.
Beef prices are high, high, high right now (hooray!). Lots of bbq/burger/steak places have had to adjust their pricing accordingly.
Want a good laugh? Check out the CBS affiliate in NYC's "top 7 brisket sandwiches". Red wine braised brisket, lmao. Some lead, others follow... http://newyork.cbslocal.com/top-lists/the-7-best-brisket-sandwiches-in-nyc/
No idea if there's a rash of new bbq restaurants up there or not, but brisket has always been immensely popular in that area. Braised brisket, corned beef and pastrami are pretty much deli classics.
you know the story right? Dude from NYC came down to Austin for SxSw and bought a smoker, now... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SLU9k3Xtgb4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> "Nothing ever blew me away like the barbecue in Texas" - Daniel Delaney, of Delaney BBQ in NYC. Don't know if I'd go quite that far, but it's great. Like texxx said, they have nice moist brisket, and I like their ribs. Not wild about their sauce, though. Sure, it's good, but not my style. I'm more of an East Texas sauce guy and when I bring home some brisket, ribs, and cream corn (and a loaf of their white bread, BBQ being the only thing I eat it with) from Rudy's, I've got my own sauce waiting. Yeah, Rudy's is worth the drive if you're in a desolate spot for BBQ joints, and they're in the neighborhood.
Team lunch at Stockyard BBQ today! Not expecting much, but BBQ always tastes better when it's free. Thinking about finally trying Franklin's on the 27th. How early should I get there and I can bring a thermos of bloody marys, correct?
I went on a Tuesday. Got there around 9 am and was about 75 people back from the door. Yes, you can BYO...but they will likely send someone around selling beers, too. We got inside around 12:30 and there was no more sausage by that point. I'd suggest 8 am. Yes...it is. I don't mind the pulled pork sandwich and it's the best breakfast taco I've found around The Woodlands. But the brisket was disgusting.
