Which is why I said let's pretend Harden is a SF before I made the analogy. Let's use last year's example so that we don't have to pretend. Durant was MVP, but LeBron was still the best SF (and player) in the league. They play the same position. Best player does not equal most valuable player. Barkley is not saying that Harden is the best player at any position, but that he is the most valuable player at any position this year. Again, I disagree w/ Charles because I think Harden is not only the MVP, but is also the best 2 guard in the league. But the idea that the MVP is not the best player at his position is actually not ridiculous at all. In 95, David Robinson was MVP, but Hakeem was still the best center in the league.
Robinson was a better player during both the 1994 and 1995 regular seasons than Olajuwon, but he lacked the extra geat that Olajuwon had (which he exhibited early in his career through his prime) in the playoffs of increasing both usage AND efficiency, as 1995 illustrated so gloriously.
Why so serious? Do you know anybody more entertaining and can draw more ratings? I know more casual sports fans that only watches nba games on tnt because of their off color comments. It's not PBS. It's TNT. It's entertainment TV.
Freaking lebron gets to pick and choose which games he'll play in. Forfeited tonight so he can play better on a nationally televised game while James hobbling around with a bad ankle. Im tired of this conference bs. Lebron and the rest of the east get to take it easy for the majority of the season.
Can you imagine where the Rockets would be right now if Harden coasted through the first 30 games of the season? Or if he opted to just sit out and rest on some random night? They'd be somewhere around 7-8 seed at best, no?
If Kenny thinks Westbrook should be the MVP if he gets OKC to 4 or 5, then why isn't Harden currently his MVP when he has us at 3, without Howard???
No surprise as he is a big fat assed FLIP FLOPPER Hates the Josh Smith on the rox, later says he needs more minutes, more involvement Harden is not the MVP and now he is. Mmkay
Sekou Smith finally sees the light, Harden is now number 1 in the MVP Race http://www.nba.com/2015/news/featur...-ladder-four-worthy-mvp-candidates/index.html
