Exactly. I love both players and Jones is nowhere near his ceiling and is probably only 75 percent healthy. People still forget how young he is.

Terrence is playing relatively well right now, probably as good as he can play based on the limits of his skills and coming off such a serious injury. He looks good playing garbage man with the reserves going up against other teams benches. I'm happy he's come back and is playing this well.

With that being said he's still not big enough, long enough, skilled enough, nor smart enough to be a difference maker against playoff teams that run a 3-pack or 4-pack of 7-footers out there at the 4/5 spots. Even last night he had multiple mental lapses in pick-and-roll defense that led directly to Clipper dunks. I said it last year and I'm saying it again this year, if we are going to win a championship this season then Terrence has to be the fourth big in the rotation at best. If he gets minutes ahead of Dwight, DMo, and Smoove we're in trouble.

I remember the time here when people were really upset about what we were/weren't doing with two decent PFs.

I would still give up DMo and Peli's pick for Goran because I knew this Jones still existed. His injury wasn't the type that limits athleticism and ability. I didn't forget he was this player, but I imagine the OP did. How did you not remember the player that Jones is? A year ago he was teaming up with Dwight and playing solid offense at home and solid defense at home and away. He was starting in front of DMo for a reason. He's solid. I'm shocked this is 12 pages worth of discussion, it was a no brainer all along for me.

I know, right? Since when is a standing reach of 8'11" considered not long enough? Yao was 9'6" and he was a center. And the stuff about not being strong enough? He heard that stuff and did something about it in the weight-room during his injury time.

The main difference is Jones is a presence down low. He had games like tonight last year but I don't recall him being the presence he is currently down low (tough rebounds, rim protection, etc.) He keeps playing like this, Dmo will be back on the bench, which is not bad because that makes the bench that much better.

Glad he is still with us. Another player that can step up when it's needed.

    Repped Mr. J.R

Love when stats prove the naysayers wrong.

How cute. You finally came back after your embarrassment of PG trades from "sources". You can leave again, unless you just really enjoy being the joke of the GARM. So irrelevant.

Feels good being vindicated when it comes to tjones.

Most people wanted to trade him. He is only 23 years old, he has so much potential. He is the rockets PF of the future.

Oh and sir do you know Dmo was having those same mental collapse on that pick n roll. Lol again your assessment of Jones is wrong again.

To be fair to basketballholic, Terrence Jones still has no "J." So that part is still correct. But Jones has certainly performed well for this offense despite the lack of range. But man, if he could develop an outside shot, we'd be talking possibly max player.

I've always liked jones. I feel like he new Aldridge made him his b**** and has really pushed to take him to that NBA size he needed.

If DMo doesn't want the back up center spot, then we should keep jones/smith and put DMo in a trade
