I am far less biased than the average clutchfans poster but I stand out because I don't root for the Rockets. My predictions the last four years have been spot on accurate. I have also never been that optimistic about the Clippers until this season, when there is a night and day difference from last year despite a similar record. They are the darkhorse in the west and I love that they appear to be on nobody's radar with teams like GS and Portland being the flavors of the month.

Rocket fans have been milking 2 championships for 20 years. i wonder how long the Spurs are going to celebrate their 4 championships? Heck Spurs were supposed to be done 4 years ago; and they won one last year....

Got to respect tbe Spurs tenacity to do what the coach tells them.

Thought they should've lost to OKC and Dallas, last year. If you asked me, I thought they got lucky to get to the Finals with an injured Ibaka. There I said it. Golden State/Houston/Memphis is going to wipe the floor with them. They might actually beat Portland.

I wouldn't count the Spurs out just yet. You never count out the defending champs no matter how bad they look in the regular season. The odds are against them this year but anything can happen in the playoffs in the West this year. Anything can happen.

They don't have a God of Thunder, like Hakeem on their side.

That's what everyone has been saying for the past 2 years and they still got a championship out of it, haha.

I think the Spurs this year are toast. But to write them off forever as an organization is insane. The post Duncan/Ginobli years will be just fine for them.

Rebuilding around Kawhi-Parker-Green is pretty solid start. Parker has years left in him, Kawhi is one of the best two way players at his position in the league. They need a new big man to build around but with the scouting in that organization I don't doubt their ability to spot some Russian nobody has ever heard of to be their next franchise block.

    The end is near!

I have no idea. They've been counted out time and time before only to prove prognosticators wrong.

Whenever it ends, it'll be one hell of a run!

    Since 1994-95:

    -Missed the playoffs one year.
    -19 playoff appearances
    -3 first round exits
    -6 Conference Semifinals exits
    -4 Conference Finals exits
-6 Finals appearances; 5 NBA titles
-19 winning seasons; 17 consecutive [currently]
    -5 60+ win seasons
    -18 50+ win seasons
-Finished 1st or 2nd in the division every season [minus 1996 and in danger this season]

When it's over for Duncan, Ginobili and Pop, they will still have a damn good team, and probably a little cap space to work with to. You sign a Paul Milsap, Draymond Green or Greg Monroe to fill the PF spot. Just bump up one of Pops assistants to HC, and run the same system with Parker as the voice and Leonard as the emerging star.

    PG: Parker / Mills
    SG: Green / Joseph
    SF: Leonard / Belinelli
    PF: Monroe / Diaw
    C: Splitter / Baynes

Parker and Diaw probably have another 4 seasons or so in them, and then the rest of the team is relatively young.

Spurs have never won consecutive years.

Duncan is like wine, still aging well. It's Manu's game that has dropped off. And of course Kawhi was slowed down by his injury.

I don't know if Kawhi is the one to build around. He would be a good #3 option, not our #1 guy.

Probably already been said but... I think we all know.

Just like the Colts, they'll have one bad season, get the #1 pick, and end up with the player of the decade, or very close to it. Then the cycle will repeat.

Thats the thing with the Spurs, there is no #1 guy, it's just a bunch of quality role players and a couple of borderline all stars like Parker, Duncan and Leonard. None of those 3 all currently #1 guys by any means, any of them would be decent 3rd options to other teams but not much more, but that's just not how the Spurs function.

can certainly see them rejigged and around the mark, especially if Pop wants to keep going without Duncan.... adding Monroe would be a very Spors move.... but watched them a bit lately and Parker's wheels are the big cause for concern, he just doesn't have the zip and can't get into the paint like he has in the past....without that the knock on effect on their spacing is very alarming

I won't believe it's dead until it's buried in the ground. Even after that happens, a zombie mightt rise.
