The Rockets have the 4th best record in the NBA, and they aren't even clicking yet..

I'm sorry but it's true. The Rockets have not looked like a well oiled machine ONCE as they did on multiple occasions under Adelman. Just because you have a top 3 NBA player and he wills your team to close victories doesn't mean your team is clicking.

If the playoffs started tomorrow I'm confident in 1 team and 1 team only being a for sure 1st round winner.

    Atlanta.

Every other series could go either way and people wanna act like that's some kind of indictment on our team and not the simple fact that the West is stacked and you never know with the East.

There were a handful of games early on where I thought we'd hit our stride, but since then the wins all seem to be struggles. I can't remember the last time we got up by 20 or more points after halftime and held that big lead through the end of the game.

If we ever get all our guys healthy at the same time and start to gel, we're going to cause some serious trouble.

As I was saying in my above post, we're not dominating ANYone over the last couple of months. We're still beating most of the teams we should beat, but we're not doing it by very wide margins.

I'll take the Ws over a bigger point differential, though.

We're winning because Harden. It has seemed to me that in order to beat a good team he has to 1) make 45% of his shots 2) get to the line about 8 times and 3) create about 20 open looks for teammates at the rim or for 3 (maybe 6 of them will go in). The games we lose, one or more of those 3 things doesn't happen.

McHale will never been Adelman. Watching our offense can be brutal if you like good screens, cuts to the basket and great passing. But Goran Dragic is not walking through that door people

If the refs actually call fouls, our guys shoot league average from 3, and Dwight does a DPOY impression - we'll be a tough out. If the refs call it like they did against Chicago or Boston, our guys keep bricking, and Dwight gets manhandled - then we'll see Josh Smith fade aways, Ariza pick and rolls, and Beverly over-dribbles.

The Warriors, Hawks and Memphis didn't have their front court miss half the season. Furthermore this is an incomplete team. Just wait till Morey completes it.

They are still a tier above us currently.

I hope he can make a move or two in the summer and acquire someone who can handle the ball in spurts alongside Harden.

If DMo learned how to pass out of the post then we could run the inside/outside game but he automatically shoots it.

Once we put a starting lineup that can outperform a bench that can average up to 40 points a game, we hit our stride.

What's he going to complete it with lars? Take a position and make a stand. Stop being vague and ambiguous...provide us with specifics if your eternal homerism allows it.

Except that out of those 6 teams we take the most 3's and yet make the least at 0.347 good for 17th in the league.

By comparison Hawks shoot 0.383 good for 2nd, Warriors 0.389 good for 1st, Blazers 0.360 good for 8th, Clippers 0.371 good for 4th and Mavs 0.357 good for 10th.

So as you see the other teams are top 10 teams in shooting the 3 ball.

Shooting the 3 is not a bad thing when you have shooters who can do it with consistency. But for the Rockets our best 3 point shooter is James Harden and in most cases he takes contested 3's because he is that good. However, he creates so many open 3's that end up in bricks.

I think the ultimate problem is that when Ariza, Beverley, etc. recieve that pass from Harden, there really isn't much else they are capable of doing except shooting.

And with all of that bricking we have still been the 8th best offense in the league since Jan 1.

That's the point. You get up enough 3s that even if you make them at a below average rate you can have a successful offense, especially when you do your best to get all your other shots in the paint, at the line and on the break.
