No, it wasn't confirmed by Morey, but since Knight was available it's a pretty safe guess that Morey put in an offer there and Jones was on the table everywhere else so it's a safe assumption that he was part of the deal.

I'm not anti-Jones honestly, I just get annoyed when people hype him up as something he's not. Personally I'm pulling for him because the Rockets will probably need to start him at PF because they have to use DMo to fill the gaping hole they have at backup C.

Jones bulked up and he was playing well before he got injured. He's improved every season. I can see him being an All Star in the future because he certainly has a fantastic combination of strength, quickness and athleticism to become a better defender. He's already a very good scorer, excellent rebounder and underrated shotblocker. Doesn't hurt for him to be watching Josh Smith, Dwight Howard and D-Mo playing defense. When we have all 4 of those guys healthy, our big man rotation is super solid.

I still would've have traded him and overpaid for an upgrade at PG.

The comparison with T-Rob is silly. Robinson's in his 3rd or 4th season and can't hit a FT, avoid foul trouble or flash a single offensive mood. Really, the only thing Robinson can do well is rebound and get garbage points. Jones can rebound, score (free throws, putbacks, drives, sometimes a jumper and occasional 3) and block shots.

SMH, do you really ask why he didn't play 36 minutes a game on the same team as LMA? C'mon, you're not even trying anymore.

That is a serious reason as I already said in previous posts. Also that the teams mentioned (Ph,Den and Mil) have no need of Jones since they have prospects and young players that are better/combarable to Jones already.
I think Cyberx said he was in the trade offer yes. and he also said that DMO was not.
Morrey made a trade offer for Dragic and you seriously think that offer included only the NOP pick?

smh. maybe cause he can't:rolleyes:. you think you can throw any player out there for extended minutes and the stats automatically translate because some PER 36 you believe says so. news flash thats not reality.

Good point. Why didn't he play 36 minutes on our team? Or the Kings?

He might get it with Philly (should they pick him up) - good luck to him.

You're way off the mark. TRob is no good. Those per 36 are really inflated when he plays 13 minutes per game. He has a TS% of like .481 for his career which is absolutely terrible.

TJones is .565 career TS%. He averaged 12 and 7 in 27 mpg per game. People were going nuts over DMo averaging 14 and 6 in January.

I agree TJones needs to play better post defense and stop with the stupid And1 fouls. But he's a lot more athletic than DMo.

    Both good role players.

No, the point I am making for jpotmac3 is that we don't know what was in the offer. I didn't think cyberx ever confirmed Jones was involved in trade talk? (if he did, well and good) - but even IF he was involved in trade talk, that doesn't mean the team laughed at us!

Philly already did pick him up and he probably will play. If we had been able to get anyone at all to take Jones in trade for a PG upgrade, we'd have probably picked up TRob so that we wouldn't miss Jones being gone.

And let's hope one, or both, become good starters!!

FWIW, Jones is playing superb defence this season (http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/203093/tracking/defense/ )

if the dumpster is acquiring an excellent PG like Dragic Lawson or even Knight then I don't agree.
However it didn't happen. He is here and all people who support the Rockets should cheer for him to become better.

Per 36 is a very valuable metric when you are looking at bench guys. The only reason I can see why people would be against it is because it doesn't help them in a conversation.

Hey I agree with you! I'd trade either of Jones/ DMo to get Dragic or Knight (not high on Lawson personally).
Not arguing with you - arguing with jpotmac3. Who suggested we couldn't get rid of Jones, teams were queuing up to laugh at us (I may have embellished his sentiment, but it was so ridiculous it deserves it)

Not when the guy plays 13 minutes. It's probably mostly garbage time and he can go all out

You people don't know who was offered by Morey. So stop assuming. If Morey didn't come here and say that why would anybody believe these so called insiders. Lol

Sadly you probably think Troy Daniels per36 stats of 20ppg is a good indicator.
    Oh dear.
