Lame attempt at a humorous title.

I would agree with you if MKG wasn't standing in the in the restricted area when RJ took off. You'd have called charging if MKG just stopped and stood straight up, so why does jumping up in the restricted area in front of a player streaking to the basket make a non-call or an offensive foul? To me, this was a plain as day blocking foul.

Maybe my interpretation of the rules is incorrect. This is what the NBA says:

RJ is making his move to the basket with the ball right outside the free throw line. That means MKG is allowed to stand in the restricted zone as long as he is making a play on the ball (which he is). I could be wrong.

Well, it was a 2 on 1 break. Initially MKG is guarding Devin Harris. After pass to RJ, MKG slides over to guard RJ. At the point of the slide, neither Devin Harris nor RJ had blown past their defender...unless you are talking about the start of the fast break. So the rule you just quoted doesn't seem to apply.

I thought the "foul" was Jefferson pushing MKG after the play.

Looked like a 10 year old stood up and walked toward Gilchrist along the baseline pointing and laughing.

So MKG would be a secondary defender. RJ had already gotten passed his primary defender on the break. Technically on that break MKG's primary player to guard is Harris, not RJ. Follow the link below and it leads you to a video of Kobe making a similar move to the basket (albeit not on a breakaway). The fact that it is a breakaway doesn't change the enforcement of it's a foul or not. The rule was put into place such that a secondary defender does not simply stand in the lane to try and draw a charge. The defender must make a play on the ball. Arguably, by jumping, MKG did.

TBH, a lot of spectacular "dunking over someone" were offensive fouls.

Wow what a terrible call. I hate the Mavs but what an awful call.

If you call that, then you have to call an offensive foul on basically every one of Blake Griffin's dunks.

I always thought he never got enough credit as a dunker because he was with guys like K-mart and Vince most of his career.

    Richard Jefferson is almost 35.

Now take a moment and think about that for a second.

I didn't even know he could still dunk.
