They're faces seem so unsure. Like "what am I playing? what kind of magic is this?" face.

    Bad ass!

    csb

My 13 year old daughter is in her first year of playing the viola (at school)...and something reminded me that I had previously heard a version of Kashmir with a backing orchestra. So I made her sit down and listen a little to the original version via Youtube...and then I found a Youtube version with LZ and a backing orchestra. It interested her...enough so...that she dug around google and found a copy of the sheet music of Kashmir for the viola and started practicing with it. So...considering that my beginning-to-rebel-seeking-independence-teenage-daughter is able to actually appreciate one of the greatest rock singles ever made...yes...there is still hope for the youth today. :) Of course she turns around after that and tries to play Fall Out Boy or Panic At The Disco on her viola and I can do nothing but shake my head in dismay (lulz).

    /csb

    Observations with the above video...

    - did I mention it was bad ass?

    - the two drummers we definitely rockin' the entire set...especially the girl in turquoise in the back

    - very impressive that so many *young* kids we able to play the entire set almost flawlessly (although no telling how many takes they had to do to get this version)

    - will be cool (for the kids that realize this) when they get older and realize how instrumental LZ was to the entire music scene and that they absolutely nailed one of the the greatest rock tracks of all-time

My 12 year old stepson wanted to sing "Here I Go again" by Whitesnake for his solo choir project.

So funny, before I even clicked on the thread, just from reading the title, my first thought was "kids rocking percussion".

    Awesome.

funny story i wont ever forget... my step brother bought a sony "boombox" for about $200, and on the same day his girlfriend, him, and I took out my stepdad's sailboat. everything was going fine, there was good wind etc.

while zep's kashmir song was playing and had it tied to top of the boat boat by the mast and right at the climax of the song we were leaning to the side and it slipped out right into the water. never to be seen again. my step bro is a cool guy and just laughed it off mostly. but no more boombox

WOW! I loved how into it the kids were. Not just playing Led Zep like it was an assignment, but really digging playing it, if that makes any sense. Thanks, Ima! You've made my day.

She was my favorite too. Looking right into the camera like a boss.

Good drummer too. He doesn't ever rush and plays in perfect time. I know professional drummers who can't even do that...

So amazing. Those kids probably have no idea how much of a positive impact fine arts is having on their lives.

That being said...I'm ready to see them try some YYZ.

So awesome! My observation: Nobody was reading music. Everyone playing by memory. Very talented group of kids.
