Fair enough, that limits his ceiling to being a bench quality player on a good team instead of a potential top 10 starter at PF, but if that's what you think is best, we should go for it.
look if D-Mo doesn't get on the boards it's TJones i prefer, D-Mo is a finesse player and Jones is a hard worker
I hope D-Mo can continue to put on good weight. I think he can become a solid, solid stretch C with a nasty post game.
Do you honestly feel he could be a top 10 PF or be fast and athletic enough to guard them? These are the top PF's in the league currently in no particular order: - Davis - LMA - Griffin - Bosh - Gasol - Duncan - Dirk - Milsap - Z-Bo - Ibaka - Favors - Monroe - Love Competition at the 5 feels a lot less crowded and easier for him to work with.
When this poll was made it was TJones by a mile. DMo has improved so much this season. It's a tough call. In terms of fit: alongside a healthy Dwight (which we may never see again) TJones might have the slight edge as starting PF. In terms of overall value (who would you take if starting a team) then DMo might have the edge. Tough call, DMo might be able to get to being a star level player, who knows if he'll get there. He has improved at playing the TJones role, getting easy baskets, knowing where to position himself to get close shots around the rim.
My concern with jones is him getting lit up by the stretch 4s out there, LMA, Dirk. Not that Dmo wouldn't but he at least has more length to bother them.
A DMo-TJones frontcourt could be great, but DMo has to become a better rebounder. I wish we could see those SportsVu stats on rebounding that track rebounds one earns vs rebounds that fall right into your hands. I have a feeling most of DMo's rebounds happen just because he's there and not because he tracked the ball down, boxed out his man, and secured the board.
both are playing at the level we need them to play in. Actually all 3. Smith, Dmo, TJones are doing exactly what we need them to do.
Yes DMo has to rebound better but the dude does a great great job of boxing out and letting other teamamtes grab rebounds. Case in point Harden. Harden and Ariza get a lot of rebounds because of DMo's smarts and boxing out. Let's not forget that.
