Gotta give you props for jumping on this guy before others. He'll be a top 5 pick this year. Top 4 is pretty much set right now: Okafor, Russell, Mudiay, Towns. However, I wouldn't pick Okafor #1...his game just doesn't look like it will translate to superstar level. He's probably a better version of Sullinger. The one guy I'm really hoping we trade up for or start slipping is Willie Cauley-Stein. Put this guy with D-Mo and our defense will be top 3 in the league.
I think Tyus Jones from Duke would be a good pick with our Pelicans pick. High basketball IQ and can nail the 3!!!!!
No chance we get him. Dude is going top 5 in the draft. He reminds me of our very own James Harden especially the way he sees the court and his cross court whip passes that almost seem impossible. Only two PG's worth in the top - this guy and the Emmanuel M kid

Hopefully we get lucky in the draft lottery with the Pelicans pick and select at #4 or trade up. D'Angelo Russell (6-5') would be the perfect backup for Harden while the athletic Nick Johnson (6-3') defends the point off the bench. 2015/16 Rockets - repeat championship roster Pg: P. Were about to see how Russel will do against NBA size. He's got 6'5 240 Stan and 6'8 RHJ on deck. Something tells me he'll be just fine. <iframe src="https://vine.co/v/OYaiuOPvePP/embed/simple" width="600" height="600" frameborder="0"></iframe><script src="https://platform.vine.co/static/scripts/embed.js"> </script>
Not sure he'd start (or need to) in year one. It remains to be seen if he can defend the one in the NBA. Harden is the point guard when he's on the floor anyway. D'angelo Russell plays the same exact way. Beverly & Nick Johnson are solid defenders of the one. Sure, at times Harden and Russell can play together like Harden and Lin did but we'd be more balanced to have another top playmaker off the bench. Russell effectively is combining Jason Terry w/ Pablo Prigioni in one player.
Unless we get a top 3 pick, there's no way we get Russell. Would've loved to see him play against Munday this season at some point.
The New Orleans pick is top 3 lottery protected. Karl Anthony Thomas and Okafor are sure top two picks. Emmanuel Mudiay may rate ahead of Russell as a true point w/ much more athleticism on Philadelphia's draft board. Minnesota and Orlando don't need a point guard. We need to go all out for Russell.
