Are you a Spurs fan if you think Greg Popovich is a better coach than Kevin McHale?

He definitely has a schtick but he is a true Clutch fan.

 

And they had to surround Duncan with Parker and Ginobili who formed a core that won them multiple titles. On top of that, they kept finding ways to stay flexible and draft smart to surround their core with good role players. They got lucky, no doubt, but unlike the Mavs they won multiple titles by building upon that luck.

 

Being a 99er doesn't mean you can be bitter and tell outright lies like Les favors sponsorship over championships. I owned him in his other thread and he goes and starts a new one.....

 

I understand what you're saying, but at the same time, it is personal. Tinman and others adore criticizing elements of the Rockets. In the past couple days, he has fiercely argued that Mark Cuban is better than Les Alexander, now he's trying to publicize the belief that Popovich is better than McHale. What's the point?

I don't come to CF to say "Yeah, our owner sucks. Our coach sucks too. So does our PG. And those posters who support every person in the Rockets organization, they are natural losers, the sheep of society."

Particular posters spread the above ideas as a way of asserting that they have basketball discernment. They say personnel are too sucky to meet their elite standards. They're such dyed-in-the-wool champions that not even the personnel of an NBA team can be accepted, not even the personnel of their favorite NBA team.

AND, this feeling is so urgent that they need to express it in the one place it will be least welcome. They just can't help but let out the feeling for Mark Cuban in a complete new thread, in the one place it will be least popular. These people need to be resisted. Because they create the nature of CF in starting threads, about Mark Cuban, Greg Popovich. It makes the board a worse Rockets board.

I have never started one thread. But I reserve the right to doggedly defend all of the Rockets within threads here. Some people think I am a loser for defending all of the Rockets organization. I think that says more about them than me.

Pop is 100× better than Mchale.

 

Pop is without a doubt better than McHale, he's arguably the best coach in NBA history.

 

Why are there all these threads about "other guys are better than our Rockets"?

 

Ok that is pretty funny.

I am not sure why people can't talk about the Rockets in a realistic manner.

I think some people would prefer to just cheer and not over think things, while others, like myself churn on the internal stuff.

At the end of the day we are all fans of the Rockets though

I told that to my 12 year old in the car on the way home from a basketball tournament - when he told me he did not think McHale was that good of a coach - and asked me if Pop was better.....smart boy...smart.
