It gets to a point in the season when you start to think about Playoff match ups and what seed you might end up with. I think if we got the 4th seed we might end up with home court the first 2 rounds(if we actually win the first round and the Thunder knock off the Warriors)

What seed do you think we will end up with ?

I think we will get the third seed personally

I'm thinking 4th, but 3rd is definitely a possibility given the Blazers' difficult remaining schedule. 2nd is a long shot though.

3rd seed that would give us a good chance to matchup with Dal/Sa the two teams we matchup with best. Plus we need a confidence booster and what better way to get it then to knock off in state division rivals in 5 or 6 games.

Unless Ariza or Motie really steps up, I think 5th or 6th seed. People will complain about how we slip down a few spots without considering we haven't had Howard most the season.

I think the Rockets can beat LAC with a healthy Howard.

Really any team 1-8 will be capable of pulling an upset and non of the teams are special. Even GS struggles against big teams inside, and they are a Bogut injury away from a first round upset.

I voted 5... between Howard being out and our inability to address the PG position I fear we will slip. Hopefully not further down than #5...

    3rd.

Third might be the best choice for us. OKC most likely will end up either 7th or 8th. The Rockets don't want to see the GSW too early. Hppefully, OKC and GSW will duel with each other first.

Reallt depends when Dwight is back and when he can be the Dwight we know. If then, this team is a load and could get to the 3rd seed.

We should try to avoid the 4 and 5 seed. If OKC keeps the 8th with the Warriors keeping the 1st and the Clippers as a 4/5 seed, that could spell trouble for Houston.

    Ideally, I want this seeding.
    1) Warriors
    2) Grizzles
    3) Rockets
    4) Blazers
    5) Clippers
    6) Mavericks
    7) Spurs
    8) Thunder

if we want to avoid GS/OKC until the conference finals, we need 2nd or 3rd seed

Rep'd. Facing the Clippers in the first round would be a death sentence. This would be the best case scenario for us. OKC and GSW duke it out in the first, pulling for OKC to upset them. Memphis and San Antonio will have a classic, with either of them being good match ups for us (assuming Dwight is healthy). We would hope that Portland and Lilliard/Aldridge can take out the Clippers with Paul/Griffin. The Mavericks are a team I feel we can beat. Dirk isn't going to drop 40+ on us and there is no reliable wing defender to put on Harden.

    First Round: Rockets vs Mavs
    Semifinals: Rockets vs Grizzlies/Spurs
    Conference Finals: Rockets vs Thunder/Trailblazers

Would be how I would want things to play out.

My gut says a fall to fifth as we flounder a bit without Dwight.

I would be thoroughly impressed with a third place finish.

I really don't want to play anyone in the West in the first round... so let the chips fall as they may.

Facing the Clippers or Spurs would suck. I know the Spurs haven't looked that great this season but you know they might wake up big time in the playoffs. The way the spanked the Heat is fresh in my mind. Clippers always kill us. Warriors have been killing us too, OKC would be really tough. I feel like we have decent chances against the Grizz, Mavs and Blazers.

I'm too superstitious to even say anything like this. I wasn't so worried about Portland before last year's first round. In spite of regular season results.
