I'm against going after Durant now. He's out of tonight's game with foot pain. He told Scott Brooks the other night to take him out because "I can't move". That's freakin' scary. Having been through all the Yao Ming saga, I hope he considers shutting it down for the year. Be safe KD

Amen. Well said. There's a time to save assets and a time to spend.

I think that's just a symptom of a greater problem.

As currently constructed (without Howard) teams can hard double Harden and dare the rest of the team to beat them.

None of the perimeter players can beat single defenders regularly and the offense doesn't help them when their job description is to camp at the 3 point line and watch Harden work while waiting for the ball to arrive.

They really miss ..... Parsons and his ability to attack the rim. No one but Harden on this roster can attack the rim reliably.

They have multiple options to fix the situation since Harden is the defacto point guard they can add a SG , SF or PG. They really aren't limited to adding a point guard .... and may be better served by adding a SG who can defend opposing point guards assuming that player can attack the basket & distribute the ball reliably.
That's why I thought Dragic was such a good fit , he's not a pure point , he's more of a combo guard. The problem there is he is cost prohibitive both in the assets required to acquire & the cost to keep him .... IF you have to make another move due to Howards health.

Basically Harden & Dragic put you in the same position as Harden & Howard - a piece away.

Nice to see everybody waking up. This is bull**** and a waste of an MVP level season from James.

We can't know exactly why Smith came here. What we do see, though, is player after player take the most money. We had the most to offer of the teams that were interested. Of course, you always have the option to dismiss that if it doesn't suit your opinion.

Here is what our lineup could have been if Morey wasn't so stuck on the 3 star, had to have Bosh or Melo who wouldn't come here scenario.
    Starting linup of
Harden, Lowry, Parsons, Dwight and Tjones/Dmo
    Bench
Pat Beverly, Brewer (from the troy daniels trade), Terry (going into the tpe from Lin),Smith (vet min) plus Tjones or Dmo and might still have Tarik Black. With Jones and Capela in D-leage.

We would have been cap hell for years, but also a championship roster for years.

Talk to us again in April, will you? or when Harden finally asks for a trade?

We wanted to go all in for Dragic even as his agents said HOU was not on their list. It's PHX we needed to entice, not Dragic.

Or contingency plan--trade for any of the PGs that were available that day.

Instead freakin' Pablo (that said, I'm expecting him to be decent)--you think Harden is happy? Harden finally spoke up and is pushing for Perk--you think he was happy with what we got???

Brewer and Smith are rentals. Brewer is here because McHale recruited him. Smith is here because it was the friendliest place he could think of with Howard here. McHale made it work by not getting frustrated over his early play.

It is a big concern. However, we are collectively shooting 3 pters below the sum of the player's career averages. I think we'd be looking a lot better if we were shooting just a bit better.

oh no, we were rejected by Perkins

see, no FA wants to sign with us. I doubt Love (going to LAL) or Durant will to, no matter what our capspace is.

Face it, Morey. Change your strategy.

The surprising thing is that before the trade deadline Morey was talking like he was all in. Just seems like with the picks and talent he had to work with, he could have done more to improve the team for this season.

It could have been, if Lowry would have actually come here. Everyone seems to want to assume that, but it only took him 2 days to sign with Toronto. Even if we'd have made him our #1 priority, it's just speculation to say he would have signed here.

we were catering to Melo with a giant pic of him holding a trophy in the locker room. We had him as 2nd string sloppy seconds w.e you want to call it.

I think this is the first time Morey has lost the fanbase.

Yes, we did. That doesn't mean Lowry would have come under any circumstances. Did any free agent agree to sign faster than him?

Nope, now your type (Morey apologists after he refused to go in this trade deadline) is in the minority.

LOLOLOLOLZ.... You'll notice that those teams who traded PGs got one in return... Thanks for the work but all it shows is that Morey either didn't have the right assets or wasn't willingly to give up Dmo. Nice long list.... but the players who could move the needle weren't available to us....
