Because you are like a rock in the middle of a river making everyone flow around you when you could easily just move over to the right lane. Even if I'm going 80, I will move over for the people going 85+. And the speed limits are too low anyway. Atlanta and DFW are raising their speed limits. Before 2001, all freeways outside the beltway were 70, inside the beltway but outside 610 were 65, and inside the loop + the loop itself was 60. Hopefully Houston is next in line to increase the speed limits and we can go back to that. It would naturally push the idiots who drive the speed limit in the middle lane (rolling roadblock) to the right as most people are in the 70s anyway.
Just get out of the way. Its not hard. Stay in the furthest right lane. We speed, get over it. Being petty and pissing off the tailgaters will definitely cause an accident. So swallow your pride and GTFO.
You would be correct sir. The incident in question occurred on the outskirts of Cleveland. I know, I know, that's probably a lot of what was wrong with the situation.
I'm perfectly fine with you going past me: where I have an issue with you is when you are trying to force me to speed up: ie tailgaters. Also, no matter what you say doing 70 in a 45 on a public street is crazy. And this happens everyday. There is a reason that in the fog last year there was a 250 car pileup because houston drivers don't know how to slow down and I'm sure they were doing 90 in the fog.
That's the lane I'm in, unless I have to be in another lane for exit purpoes, and I STILL get tailgated.
actually that is wrong. I'm in the slow lane: if I said left it was a type on: i meant the right lane or the slow lnae.
I rarely see anyone get tailgated in the slow lane. You should be able to stand your ground in that lane.
lol, stand your ground. people who are in the slow lane and trapped because somebody is moving past them have no patience and want to put the nose on their truck with mud tires on your rear bumper. also, this happens, as I've said on regular streets where apparently it is an acceptable practice to do 60-to-70 in 35/45 zones. stand my ground. they need to just get off my ass
Bro how about you gtfo of houston? I think you would be happier and we houston drivers would be happier.
there are many drivers who tailgate no matter what. They have zero concern about how close they drive to someone no matter what the scenario is. Example: starting 100 miles outside of Houston on I-45 coming from Dallas, the traffic gets so crowded that people who want to continue going 80-85 have to weave around ppl going the more reasonable 75 mph when it's that crowded. They then will crowd anyone, no matter which lane they are in. At that point, the interstate is too crowded to effectively go >80. It won't really save you much time. Just go with the flow at 70-75 Don't you agree?
I agree that speeding on the highway is almost a zero sum game. Like at most you might save about 5-8 minutes on an hour drive. For me it's not worth the risk of an accident or getting a speeding ticket and wasting even more time. If I'm in the fast lane and someone is coming faster behind me I always move over. But if I'm in the slow lane going speed limit or below I usually don't even check my rear view mirror.
You're obviously exaggerating. If everyone that you come in contact with on the road is an *******, then that should really say something about your driving.
Well, it seems like San Antonio is the place for you. Just try to stay out of the way on I-10 West on your way out of town.
