    i appreciate your sincerity.

it genuinely hurts to see something you like hurt itself over and over again.
what's that phrase? "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

Because they got a great draft pick in return? What player do we have, outside of Harden, that could nab a pick similar to the Lakers pick Philly received?

A big man that half this board wanted, on a good contract. Big men are kinda rare in this league.

    Rookie PG.

A NO draft pick that may be the last pick of the lottery, ie the spot we picked for years when we couldn't grab an impact player? A starting PF on last years playoff team that got sent to the pine in the playoffs, coming off a major injury?

    You overrate our assets.

Kinda knee-jerky b/c I don't feel this way when we win lol... but nights like tonight, I start to question whether we really have enough talent on the roster to make a strong playoff run. I dunno.

Yeah, we did not just lose. We played very poorly AGAIN for the 1st 3 quarters. same old problems--3pt bricking, TOs, lack of rebounding, layup drills for the opponent

This has been going on for the last month or so, since we shut down Dwight again.

Opponents now know they just need to stymie Harden and let the rest of the team beat them. Tonight it was compounded by Harden getting cut on his hand.

The Rockets have some problems, no doubt, but they're also missing an All Star. The moment Dwight gets back the Rockets greatly improve, simply because they have a prayer down low.

Tonight they just got outplayed. It happens.

Turnovers, bad shot selection, turnovers, brick, brick, brick & free ride in the paint…if we play like this we will get swept in the 1st round of the playoffs, and I'm the most optimistic Rockets fan, but that's the sad reality.

McHale has a 60% winning percentage…imagine if he actually had a playbook?

Imagine if our offence wasn't just move the ball, Iso, Iso, Iso…

Imagine if a player that is shooting 30% from the field is benched when he keeps jacking up shot after shot.

Imagine if Harden & Howard had a coach that would run back door cuts, up screens, double screens…

    Imagine...

Not to mention so many good teams got beat last night and some of them bad, it makes our loss look almost admirable.

if we don't get out of the first round, we're not going to win a championship.

Exactly! It is ridiculous. How is a team supposed to win when the other guys get all the calls and shoot way more free throws? Or when their best player gets to go to the line 13 times? Rockets have no chance against those odds.

Wait, you mean the Rockets had a clear free-throw advantage and Harden was the one who shot 13 free-throws? Can't be. The refs clearly had an agenda against the Rockets, didn't they? I mean, that is the narrative we're going with on ClutchFans, right?

This site is so ******* predictable.

Lose while shooting 10 less free-throws than the other team? REFS SUCK AND DON'T WANT US TO EVER WIN A GAME!!!!!!

Lose while shooting 10 more free-throws than the other team (with Harden spending a lot of time at the line)? REFS SUCK AND DON'T WANT US TO EVER WIN A GAME!!!!!!

When Terrance Jones made his second free-throw on that lane violation on Dirk, the Rockets had shot 23 free-throws to the Mavs' 8. Their 10 free-throws in the last minute of the game is the only reason the final discrepancy isn't as big as it was all game.

Next time people get on here and b**** about how the Rockets have no chance because the refs are so stacked against them and cite the free-throw discrepancy as evidence, I hope they remember this game, the 23 to 8 free-throw difference, then promptly go **** themselves. It is getting sad and pathetic around here how everything has to be the refs' fault.

There are 82 games in a season and a lot of really good teams (including the Mavs, much as we don't want to admit it). Sometimes you just get outplayed on a given night or things don't fall your way. Sure, there are aspects of players' performance or coaching decisions to discuss, but quit making the refs the default excuse.

And Dirk was out for an extended period for something with his shooting elbow. Takes nothing away from the Rockets comeback and doesn't exactly excuse the Mavs, either, but both of those were factors.

Ugh this is probably the most overused excuse on CF.
    We suck with Dwight
& we suck harder without him

There is no excuse, we just have a ****y roster
