On the topic of "inside information," obviously Cyberx, Codman and DocRocket have (and are) some pretty interesting sources of information. This post isn;t really about them. Hypothetically: Let's say BBHolic is an acquaintance with the brother of the part time guy who folds the players warm ups by the bench at the home games, working under Tony Nila. The information from that dude is many, many times removed from Daryl's office. But, sometimes he hears hallway chatter and he tells his bro who tells BBHolic. Or, let's say a there's a guy worked at the Rockets organization 10 years ago as a part of the broadcast team. He's way out of the biz for a long time, but sometimes he gets texts from a friend still in the biz and posts it, mixed in with some of his thoughts based on having a really good feel for the organization. Any editor would scoff at using the above information (well, except Chris Broussard's editor). And the information might have a small chance of turning into reality. So, getting to the point... Given that this is a Rockets message board: Why wouldn't we be open to and welcome even mildly interesting information? Why do we need information to be 100% likely and from a 100% reliable source? Aren't most people smart enough to appropriately contextualize the information for ourselves? For those who aren't you're not going to really help them. Don't we have mods who do a pretty good job of sifting through the BS? RIP Shaun11 and the King. The "you're a fraud" post doesn't really add any more value than the "insider" post (really or fake).
He cited someone who knocked over Crash Bandicoot. From what i understand, he's referring to bigs getting bought out. Hence, Kenyon Martin.
Bballholic, I haven't seen if you've said anything about it but do you think DWill will be bought out?
They should ban all the guys like you that ignorantly blast people because your jealous or whatever weird reason you have for it.
I can't believe this fell to the second page! Gotta fix that: Question to cyberx or whomever wishes to answer: Is it predicted that K-Love going to opt out this summer? And if so, would he be open to taking a look at Houston? Would we be able to make room? Should we?
When the "insiders" get butt hurt and threaten to leave the board... Been going on for years and years. Just know Cyber, we appreciate you bro. Don't let the rotten apples make it seem otherwise. You help make Clutchfans special.
Javale is not on my buyout list because I haven't heard a single favorable thing about him from my sources. And my own eyes tell me we can't put him out there for 10 minutes a game if we are trying to win a championship. Perk is a big time grinder. TRob showed good defensive potential both here and in Portland. He's a possible TJONES replacement when we tradeTJones. I dunno. Word was before the deadline that he hates Hollins and would give up his last year to get out. But he wouldn't accept a buyout if they were going to stretch him. There was talk with Philly regarding trading him there and Philly buying him out. You see with the Javale trade that Philly was willing to use their 2015-16 cap space but and they basically sold that cap space for a low end first (21-22 probably). My understanding is Brooklyn would probably release DWILL if he would take that last year down to a couple million and let them stretch him. If he did that they could stretch him at around 4.5 million per season. Haven't heard anything in the last couple days about him but there's no reason to believe he has changed course and now wants to stay. He hates Hollins and wants out. So I think he's still a candidate for a buyout.
I thought Hollins, when hired, was the answer to all Brooklyn's problems, but Nyet. TJones may well get traded, ultimately, sometime not this season, but TRob will be entrenched with the MoTownTwo by then.
I mentioned a day or 2 back that Perkins was discussed by Harden and management. A report came today that Rockets are wild cards to sign him.
