In the playoffs last year Robin Lopez and Wesley Matthews lamented how it was hard guarding the Spurs because of their passing and movement off the ball. They said the Rockets were much easier to defend because all they do is give the ball to Harden. In this game the Rockets went on a major scoring drought when Harden went to the bench.
The coaching staff needs to work on a game plan for when Harden is double teamed or he is not in the game. If they don't figure it out it will bite us in the playoffs.
Dmo is kind of a X factor, he needs to be established in the posts early and do well if we are going to have a chance to keep up with the good teams. Dmo should be taking more shots not Ariza.
Rockets need a practice session just on passing. More turnovers than Assists Ugh.

Gotta knock shots down but also make better passes out of there. We weren't sharp tonight with 21 turnovers. 9 turnovers in the first 10 minutes. We weren't very good.

After that fast start, good shots not going?

Good shots we missed. Good shots where we could drive again. They packed the paint. They had 12 offensive rebounds to go with our 21 turnoves. We tried to scramble back and couldn't.

Case of knocking off some rust?

No. We weren't very good. We've been **** before without any rust. That's excuses.

We gotta play better. There's a million excuses, which do you want? We didn't play well enough.

17 and 12. We couldn't keep him off the glass. Defensive breakdown after defensive breakdown. Guys doing strange stuff on both sides of the ball for awhile.

Better job in the 2nd half?

We didn't have as many but we had guys helping off guys we weren't suppose to help off. They made us pay on a couple. We got in a hole. Our offense led to their offense. We had good shots and didn't make 'em and it kinda snowballs.

Is that about communication?

It's about using your brain. We did some stuff that I don't know, hard to explain. Guys run up on balls and leave a good shooter for a non shooter. That's not what we teach or preach.

Bad matchup for Beverley tonight?

He played 27/28 minutes. Couldn't have been that bad of a matchup.

 

So what does that accomplish? You're willing to let the NO pick, DMo or Jones and another asset just to show people the team can get out of the first round? So what will happen in the next year?

How do you know Harden doesn't trust the organization? It's been reported multiple times that they actually talk to Harden and even Dwight.

For the record, I believe the team will get past the first round this year.

 

Your stupid if you don't think we could have got a pg. we could have got knight by offering no pick and knick pick and other assets. We had enough to beat knight deal.... Could have got Lawson most likely.... Shoot mo Williams and Jarrett jack would be a blessing at this point

Look I have been a blindly optimistic homer and biggest Morey suppoerter since day 1.

But it's always flexibility for the future... It's never now never this year ...

If Morey cared about winning he would have got a pg. not dragic but someone there is 30+ pgs that would be an upgrade

Instead we push it back another year when we have a player playing mvp caliber ball...

That may not happen again. Dwight may not be the same. This was the year to go all in. Instead we let Portland and okc trump us

 

Just coming back from dinner and as soon as i enter the GARM it looks like all hell broke loose.

 

Is Ariza ever planning on having a decent offensive day or is he just going to be bricking away for the next 4 years of his contract?

so including tonight lefties on the rockets are shooting 40.4% from deep this month

34/84 attempts

right handed players in this month are 29.4% going 38/129

now we do have that crazy clipper game which is does skew things but if we take that out then

32/64 for the southpaws for a 50% rate

and

31/104 for right handed players for 29.8%

not sure what is going on right now but something is definitely is up with all the right handed players on the team.

Why does me asking for upgrade at point automatically mean dragic?!?!

Thomas, knight , mcw, Jackson , Williams were all traded

Jack and Lawson were at least being shopped we didn't get any of them ALL would be a major upgrade.


We could have trumped what Suns gave up for the 3 way deal that landed them knight ... I don't think Morey even knew he was being moved

 

Prigioni's an upgrade for this team. God I wish I was being sarcastic.

 

MCW can't shoot. Do we need more brick-layers? So we can b**** about how he can't shoot just like we do Bev, Ariza, Brewer etc.

Thomas is less than 6'0 and isn't a playmaker. Do we need another defensive sieve? Do we want to watch him get absolutely abused by bigger PGs? We couldn't bring him off the bench because he'd get pissy like he did in PHX.

Reggie Jackson and Brandon Knight would'v required us giving up likely the same package Phoenix wanted: NOP pick, another first rounder, D-Mo and another young player (Jones or K-Pap?). There's no way in hell I'm giving up D-Mo for those guys who are set to be free agents. And certainly not giving OKC Motiejunas.

For Lawson? Possibly. But he was never really available anyway.

Morey made the right call by not giving up the farm for these guys. Prigs is gonna be useful. Motiejunas is going to be pivotal if Howard can't come back and be what he was last season. Jarrett Jack would've be nice, I'll give you that. Though since they didn't deal for RJ, I think they wanted to hold onto him.

 

Yes he is.... But I don't know what is more disturbing that he was our move or that he is actually an upgrade

But we still have soooo many assets to not use next year and instead draft mediocre undersized PFs

 

Knight was moved for basically Lakers pick

We could have been 3rd team instead of phx Gave 76ers cannan , no 1st and Nyk 2nd

That would have beat lakers pick which won't be used this year and they will prob be much better next year prob around no pick this year

 

Before the All Star break, I said including Dallas and the next 5 home games, I could see us going 3-3 and 2-4 wouldn't shock me. We need to win 3 of the next 5 to go 3-3 in those games....Toronto, LAC and Cleve are certainly capable of beating us. Playing 1/2 a game like tonight could even cost a win against a BKN or Minn (nah....rethinking, that couldn't happen).

 

People keep acting like Prigioni is some scrub, I guess cause he's 37 and was on a ****ty team... but the guy can actually play. He can really shoot, and he's a decent PG.
