Wow, he was just at an event a couple of days ago?! http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...eats_jerome_kersey_brian_grant_and_terry.html
Yeah, saw him about two weeks ago at a Blazer event. He was very nice and taking photos with anyone who asked. RIP.
Holy crap. All these guys are dying or having major issues way too young. I remember him from back when Clyde used to play for the Blazers. Power, speed, passing, quickness, running fast breaks... Kersey was good at all of it.
Very sad. After the Anthony Mason news I googled him to see how he was looking these days and he wasn't looking like he had been treating his body well (all speculation of course). I just googled Kersey cause I didn't know what he'd been up to and he looked absolutely terrific.
That's sad news to be sure....waaay too young. I'll always remember him running the break, and throwing down tomahawk power dunks.
Dr. Larry Lewman tells TMZ Sports ... "There was a blood clot in his left calf that broke loose and traveled to his lungs and clogged both his pulmonary arteries." Dr. Lewman adds, "We're still gathering information, but it appears he had a surgical procedure recently. Anyone who is post surgical, who isn't moving around a lot, is at risk." Several high-profile people have passed away from the same condition -- including Heavy D, Dennis Farina and reporter David Bloom. http://www.blazersedge.com/2015/2/19/8071083/jerome-kersey-cause-of-death-was-blood-clot
What? Almost all the NBA legends are still alive and fine...Bill Russell, Oscar Robinson, Jabbar. NBA players do well in old age, its a small minority that die young.
