Wait your kidding me right? Kobe had Shaq and Pau Ummm MJ had Pippen and Rodman oh yeah Kukoch was a hell of a player too... Not to mention they both had one of the top 3 coaches of all time. Look around the league for a second Lillard has LaMarcus Westbrook has Durant LeBron has Love and Kyrie Curry has Klay I'm not even going to list anymore. Harden has Ariza, a broke down Howard and a terrible coach. There's a reason why Harden needs to go off inorder for us to beat even average team.
When Canaan got serious minutes, he outperformed Beverly. The pg position is weaker. This is worse than Brooks for Hamilton trade last year. What if Beverley get's injured again. 37 year old Prigion and 37 year old Jason Terry are going to take us deep into the playoffs?! I don't think so. Canaan was a good insurance just in case a player got injured.
Way to take what I said out of context. I was talking about playmakers. Oh and Harden has Dwight Howard and DMO one of the better young 7 footers in the entire NBA. And if Harden lives up to his billing people will be calling Ariza Pippen like and he has Terry who has made more three point shots than Kerr and again Howard. Don't get me started on Phil Jackson.
Just stop now because this is getting rediculous. You can run an offense through Shaq and a prime Gasol just because they were centers doesn't mean they were not playmakers. Posting up Howard is a joke and Howard is not Orlando Howard. Kobe had Shaq and Gasol in their PRIMES. Terry is what 36? Again KERR WAS IN HIS PRIME and to this day is the career leader in 3pt %! Comparing Ariza to Pippen is just stupidity in fact beyond stupidity. And once again Harden has a broken down Howard. I love Harden but he never had HALF the help on this Rockets team that Kobe and Jordan did.

Nah, been there done that. I have stopped dreaming about a Rockets championship a long time ago. Pillows are for people who are still dreaming about going out of the first round any time soon.
Then go root for a different team. We don't have room on the Rockets for fake ass fair weather fans like you. When the Rockets are down or in the mix, that is ESPECIALLY the time to get behind them. You either keep believing or you stop. There is no middle ground, especially when you have James Harden.
Rotation depth added, hopefully, but mostly kicked the can down the road. Must maintain flexibility!!!!! derp.
What did we do with these moves ? First , we picked up a point guard who while not a big name can spell PatBev , run the offense with the second unit getting them easy / open looks , shoots a high percentage from 3 point land and is a solid defender. No more Jason Terry playing out of position at the point with that second group. Yeah , he's old .... but everything the team needed in a point guard. He is also an expiring contract after next year , essentially extending the shelf life of the asset that was Alexy Shved. The second trade is all about potential. Its as much about next year as it is this year. KJ McDaniels has the tools to be a star in the future and should contribute down the stretch. I see him playing the SG behind Harden and they have lacked depth at SG since Harden arrived. He'll give that second unit a perimeter player who can attack the rim which is another need. You got him for a point guard who couldn't crack the rotation on a team that's weak at the position and a 2nd round pick that you don't have a roster spot for next season as you'll have two other picks to find a place for (NO 1st & NYK 2nd). Can you keep him next season ?? That's a good question but I think if he's as advertised , you can find a way. You'll have Bird Rights for Terry & Brewer .... then the MLE to work with which comes down to Josh Smith & KJ McDaniels and its quite possible you could keep both with that tool because of the effect of Detroit paying Smith , unless he signs for a real fat deal its not going to change his bottom line much at all.
Pablo is legit guys. He address the key weakness in our team, a second facilitator. I watch him play a lot (because I watched a lot of Knick games) and I like it when he touch the ball. I don't get the *please don't mess up feeling* I get when I see Josh Smith or Jeremy Lin running point. McDaniel is just an athletic freak. I like him.
I don't know if anyone here has seen Prigioni play. He is not as bad as people here make him out to be. If he can remain healthy, he could possibly be exactly what we need. Sure it would be alot better if he was younger but what is awesome is that he is a pass first pg. He has great court vision and is all about passing the ball first. If the ball needs to be at a certain spot at a certain time, he will get it done. He also doesn't shoot the ball at a dismal percentage like Rubio. We weren't going to use Canaan and I feel like we did the guy a favor by letting him go to another team. He is basically an undersized two guard who looks to score first. Mcdaniels is just an expiring contract just like Hamilton was. Not great moves but decent. Let's see how they pan out.
The greatest players didn't need a ball dominating distributor to win championships is what the poster was trying to say. I don't think that notion is that stupid. He needs the right pieces around him, but the offense runs through Harden. Now when he sits is a different story. But you shouldn't be paying out the wazoo for a high end ball dominating distributor when you already have one.
Who did Kobe have ?! 2010 - Andrew Bynum , Ron Artest , Pau Gasol , Lamar Odom , Derek Fisher 2009 - Andrew Bynum , Trevor Ariza , Pau Gasol , Lamar Odom , Derek Fisher 2002 - Shaq , Derek Fisher , Big Shot Bob. 2001 - Shaq , Derek Fisher , Big Shot Bob , Horace Grant , Ron Harper , Brian Shaw. 2000 - Shaw , Derek Fisher , Big Shot Bob , AC Green , Ron Harper , Brian Shaw. Well , that's who Kobe had to work with in those championship years .. what a buncha nobodies huh ?!
