What a travesty...Rockets traded away their best pg. Mean ol' Mchale wouldn't play Canaan. Now we have to watch him turn into an Allstar on another team. Should've traded Beverly. Rockets got worse at pg...
clear winner for me is OKC and Portland. Afflalo in portland is just an amazing move, and he will be a perfict fit for them. OKC regardless of what happened early this year has just pretty much guaranteed at least the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Once again... Having trouble finding a more overhyped player based off zero evidence than Isaiah Canaan
Blah blah blah. If he wants to be the man he needs to step up and be the man. im so sick and tired of hearing how POOR Harden needs help!!! Who did Kobe have? Who did Jordan have? Their PG's weren't anything special and they were the focus of the other teams defenses yet they overcame and won champoinships. We are third in the west and its never been deeper and more talented than right now. Harden has been the man and if he truly is the MVP will continue to be the man. He is going to handle the ball 38 to 40 minutes a game no matter who we bring in so you people need to get that in your heads.
You think he would be play if he was ACTUALLY the better PG? Am I the only person still content with having Pat Bev?
I do think he had some incredible range off the dribble, but that was about it. Possibly pretty good for another team, but not on the rockets with Harden.
Zero evidence..Did you watch him play at the beginning of the year. He outplayed Beverley... Beverly coming back and the ankle injury stopped him. Mchale wouldn't give him any playing time after that. Isiah Canaan is better than Beverly. Rockets got worse at pg.
Haven't been this happy to see a player gone since Linn. At least Linn actually contributed something. Good riddance now only if his fans would only go with him like Linns did.
Top 50 player of all time Shaquille O'Neal, 5 time all star Pau Gasol Top 50 player of all time Scottie Pippen, the greatest 3 point shooter in the history of the game in Steve Kerr, all star and rebounding demon in Dennis Rodman..... And they both had Phil Jackson while we have uh yeah.....
I'm certainly not going to sit here and pretend like KJ McDaniels and Prigioni are going to be the answer to our prayers. My guess, McDaniels gets a little PT early and then gradually gets closer and closer to the end of the bench. Prigioni probably works himself into some rotation minutes. If what people say about him is true (pest on defense, good shooter, low turnovers) then he might be a decent little pickup to go along with the rest of that second unit. I'm about as lukewarm as I can possibly get on these moves today... But that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Canaan was the only guard on the Rockets that looked like he could play against the Clippers. Then he went down with an ankle injury.
We kept our good talent and kept our good picks. We kept our cap flexibility. We added a rotational player for the playoffs at a position of need and took a gamble on a young prospect for a chance at a longer term commitment. What we didn't do is meaningfully improve our chances at winning a title this year. If dwight wasn't coming back anyway then the Knicks trade was more of a salary dump. the draft was a missed opportunity if we have a healthy dwight come playoff time, but it Looks much better if Dwight is out for the rest of the year.
The only positive I take from this trade deadline is that we kept Dmo, Capela and New Orleans pick. Trading Canaan was a bad move and all the 2nd round picks gave up. Prigioni is too old. McDaniels is a free agent. Rockets got robbed!
