That's one of the main reasons why I dislike Plow's methods. Who knows if he had some real info, but to come on here with a desperate fanbase and talk about how we WILL acquire Dragic or whomever, was pretty low IMO. Cyber was right, Dragic stuck it to us alright.
Man, I really wanted Knight. I thought that if we could get him our backcourt would be set for the next 8-10 years. I know people are considering this trade deadline a fail, rightfully so. We swung and miss. There were 5 significant point guards out there and we didn't get any, nor did we solve our problems for back up center. But at the end of the day, we didn't send anything of note away. I know people are high on Canaan but he hasn't proven anything in the NBA and KJ has way more potential than Canaan, in my opinion. We still have Jones, Dmo, NYK 2nd and the NOP pick. I don't like that we seem to be more focused on the offseason/future than this season, but the biggest thing for us is getting Jones and, more importantly, Howard back and in NBA shape. We made our moves to get Brewer and Smoove, we still have the league MVP in Harden and a great supporting class. Hope is not lost.
Plow stuck his neck out, for no personal benefit, and shared whatever information he could about the team he loves on the site he loves. You can foolishly call him out on being inaccurate, but you have to remember how ephemeral even the most solid rumors can be... GMs may as well write their plans in sand as the tide recedes. Things change hourly. Plow graciously gave us what he could. We should appreciate it for what it was, not mock him for it wasn't.
Actually, he didn't. He had it leaked that he would NOT re-sign here under any circumstances. If he really wanted to stick it to us, he wouldn't have floated that out there, and we would have given up very real pieces to obtain him. Once he left us at the altar this summer, THEN he would have stuck it to us. Does it suck that he was so chapped by us not offering that completely inconsequential player option? Yes. Do I think Morey would have done things differently if given a second chance? Probably. But do I think the Rockets are doomed, or that our season is lost? Not a chance in hell. This is a GOOD TEAM, and we have a very real possibility of getting deep in the playoffs. No trade would have mattered if Dwight is not healthy going into the playoffs. With a healthy Dwight, and a fully bolstered bench, I think we will see something special this year. Think about it. When was the last time a Rockets team had a bench THIS deep?? The Jon Barry-David Wesley days?? This bench is going to go a LONG way in making sure we stay fresh down the stretch. Usually we're used to seeing Rockets teams close out the regular season on a whimper because they're burned out. I don't think we're going to see that this year. With guys like Smith, Brewer, Jones, Prigioni, and Papa/McDaniels, I think we'll see our starters getting more rest now in the final 25+ games. That is seriously exciting.
If he gets traded here, only the Rockets can offer him a five year deal. Why would he risk getting traded where he doesn't want to play and lose out on money in the process?

To screw us over? That's exactly my point. He didn't do that. He made it known that he would, under no circumstances, sign a new deal with the Rockets. If he had allowed himself to get dealt here with the intention of walking away from us in the off-season, THAT would have been him sticking it to us.
I mean he didn't screw us over, to me specifically not wanting to get traded here when it's obvious he would be a great fit here and it would greatly improve our team qualifies as "sticking it" to us though.
The possibility is doable in the abstract, but if you think about it, he'd spend one full year in a dead-end situation he created for himself just for the satisfaction of walking away. That's one big ass long-con hate **** right there. It'd be a script worthy of the Lifetime Channel. Athletes have short lives and they have to wring out as much motivation they can to compete at the next level. Doing something like on contract year would be so petty and unimaginable with so much risk for fail on Dragic's part. Maybe Dwight's situation is fresh in people's minds, but Dwight never tricked the Lakers into pulling the trigger for him with the intent of ****ing them over. The situation there went pear shaped and his motivation changed. What Dragic might've done would be in the middle. He leaked the info out knowing he already wasted the Rockets and Suns time.
Plow made up a bunch of garbage that had no basis in reality. From his first post in the thread, there were serious discrepancies between his predictions and reality. When questioned he responded by berating his critics and using every trick in the book to remove attention from his own inaccuracies to anyone who questioned his claims. He took long stretches off to avoid answering any questions, only coming in with irrelevant youtube links that again attempted to turn the onus for his wrong on others. If he had any self respect, he'd come in with a mea culpa and slink away. Instead, he still has people defending him despite all reason.
If Morey learns something, then this Dragic debacle would be a worthwhile experience. "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush." When you already have a good player, don't let him go. Because most likely he will not want to come back. "Don't put all your eggs in one basket." How foolish did we look when we get spurned by Bosh, then Dragic. Our HOU branding takes a hit, believe you me. Makes me mad that POR and OKC got better without a lot of fanfare.

These are my favorite types of posts. As if Morey is some simpleton who stumbled into GM'ing one of the most complex and dynamic entities in the world , and he is some amateur who needs to learn his lessons. Newsflash, if an identical situation occurred, and the Rockets were without a star and faced with a Dragic caliber player about to leave in free agency....he would follow the exact same process as before because it was the right way to operate and ended up with the optimal result. I really hope you fans wisen up one day and learn how dumb the **** you are saying now is.
It's a good thing Daryl Morey doesn't think like you or we would still be fielding a team a team of Dragic, Lowry and Kevin Martin. We would still finish 9th in the West and James Harden would not be playing in Houston.
