Morey blew his load with Brewer and Smith which has allowed us to maintain our position in the West but now all these teams behind us are catching up with these acquisitions.

I disagree. A wing rotation of Afflalo, Mathews and Batum is pretty stout. They just need to find the right guy (Mathews or Afflalo) to bring off the bench and close. Afflalo alone isn't an outstanding player but he was deadly efficient last year and fits in seamlessly with Portland. He's a competitor too, he just hasn't had too many opportunities to showcase it since UCLA.

That trio of wings to compliment your stars - Alridge and Lillard. Pretty sweet.

Afflalo is a solid 6th man.

Can be what Mo Williams was for the Blazers last year in the playoffs but at the SG/SF position.

    Sucks for us.

Agree on this, I like Afflalo a lot, pretty good efficient players and plays hard D. I'm honestly surprised it took so little to get him, if I will compare it to us getting Corey Brewer ie a pretty good effing' steal.

In fact, if it takes so little to get Afflalo why didn't the Rox jump on this? We need a playmaker but he doesn't have to be a pg, even a creator like Afflalo becoming the 6th man or starter if Ariza is bricking it up woudl be pretty good.

For that asking price, I wish the Rockets would have got him. Harden at PG, Afflalo at SG/6th man and we would have been set for our playmaker needs

Mo Williams was awful last year. That's why he ended up in Minnesota...and was traded again.

Morey will have cap flexibility in 16 to go after Durant and maybe Wiggins a few years after.

For the same reason that you compared him to Corey Brewer, they don't need him.

People worried about Josh Smith disrupting the offense, Affalo has been jacking up 20 shots a night for 4 years now, not at particularly good efficiency either (and this year just downright bad).

The Rockets have Brewer to fill this role. No sense overpaying for a 3rd guy to do it also.

Damnit. This makes the Blazers a lot better. A rotation of Matthews, Afflalo and Batum at the wingspot is going to be real nice.

We really need to get Dragic or better yet Lawson if we want to get out of the first round and make a run.
