I think Morey's offer has been the same for quite some time. The leaked rumors about Boston, Sacramento and the rest were leaked by Phoenix to get Morey to up his offer. Dragic's camp countered all that by saying he won't sign with those teams. Dragic's image took a hit amongst GMs to deter them from going all in with offers. You could lump Houston in with those teams, but the chumminess with Rockets when we played the Suns and the fishy activity on Dragic's Twitter make me think that he wants to be here. He's simply helping Morey out by acting up and scaring away other teams' best offer. He's also allowing the Rockets to not have to include DMo. Why include DMo for a rental? So dragic says he won't sign in Houston.
Agreed, I would be willing to part with NOP pick at this point and a minor asset like KPap, Llull, maybe Terry if needed for matching purposes. The only way I am throwing Jones in is if they give a solid big in return and even then I am hesitant. Not sure if anyone is willing to offer a 1st round pick as good as our NOP pick at this point. I assume that is what Morey's offer is centered around while keeping our rotational bigs. Definitely worth the risk for 30 games of the Dragon plus the "possibility" of resigning him in the offseason.
That's the news I was hoping for. I believed it because Morey has said as much, but I hope he holds to it. This is the year you can make a run. Go for it.
If that hapens, there's now way they are keeping all three of Johnson, DWill, and Jackson at big dollars. Something has to give.
Exactly. Everything about them screams incompetence. From the FO, to the coach, to their play on the court right now. But they think their current players, although some are good and have some value, should demand the highest prices on the market. Mozgov messed their heads up; no actually they probably were even before that deal.
As long as we have moveable contracts to free up money for Durant I don't see us being up against the cap enough to not make a legitimate run at KD assuming he has a glimmer of interest. Signing Dragic may not be out of the question unless we are okay with him moving on this summer. Ariza's contract should be moveable as well if absolutely needed.
Signing Deron Williams without giving up 'assets' or giving up 'assets' for a 'Dragic rental' ... that's the question.
Renting Dragic is ok to me. The window is open NOW. The Pelican pick and Knicks second rounder don't do **** for us in our window. Remember we need to keep Harden happy. I don't even care about Dwight at this point
