I think if the Mavs decide they want Sanders then they will get him as opposed to any other team. Especially if it's against the Rockets. Reason being- Agents. Sanders agent is Dan Fegans boss. As we know it seems like Fegan and the Mavs have a better relationship right now than Fegan and the Rox. Sanders agent is also Amare's agent. Wouldn't be surprising if Cuban and Donnie already discussed with the agent whilst making the move for Amare.
Chance of Sanders signing with another team this season = 1% Chance of Sanders signing with the MAVS this season = 0% Ellis hates him and was the reason he left Milwaukee. They had a fistfight. Sanders left 20 millions off the table. You don't leave so much money to go sign a vet minimum.
FIFY. Players squash beef all the time. Don't be surprised if he does sign with the Mavs and he and Ellis are cool.
No. The local reports and all the leaks at that time spoke that they came to actual blows. I don't care what was reported to the national media. The one he almost had a fistfight with but it ended with a big shouting match infront of the press was Neal. With Ellis and Dunleavy it went to punches.
His buyout has still not made official and the Bucks Fo could wait until last minute of March 1. Unless a good trade happens and they need the roster spot. There will be a press release later today but yesterday Kidd said some bs "He still can come back and we will see ". Cuban can plan all he wants though.
If Cuban would sign him then this statement about ''chemistry matters'' won't make any sence. Aniway, they signed Rajon Rondo - "best chemistry guy", it may happen as well.
He is a great risk for the Mavs because their team is old, Dirk is old, Chandler is old, even Monta is old and Rondo could walk away in FA so basically their only young talents is Parsons. For the Rox he would be a useless pickup because we need all the cap we can get our hands on. Why would the Rox take a risk on someone just because Dallas can get him? If Sanders had his head on straight then yeah, he might be a good pickup but then again who's to know this guy would sign another contract, then negotiate another buyout when his crazies attack again? Dallas isn't the only opponent, we have other better teams to worry about this is the exact same fixation Cuban had when he pried Parsons away from the Rox, look at how it came back to bite him.
Oh my bad then. Didn't hear about the local reports and leaks. Guess that was a really messy situation he had in Milwaukee w/those ppl.
How would a tiny prorated salary figure for the remainder of this season chew up any appreciable cap space? I don't know what the exact numbers for Sanders would be, but they are getting smaller with each passing day. Stein posted the number the Mavs are paying Stoudemire, though, to give some idea. They are paying him $477,150 and taking a cap hit of $301,492. At the end of the season, that cap hit disappears like a fart in the wind. Honestly, what is Morey (or any other GM) going to do with $300k in cap space between now and March 1st? Just like the Rockets signing Josh Smith and the Mavericks signing Amar'e Stoudemire, there is no appreciable hit to the cap to be worried about this year and absolutely ZERO cap hit for next year's free agency. Risk? Please. It is all moot, though. Sanders doesn't have the desire (and likely doesn't have the clean blood) to return this year. His upside is such that any GM that could use a big in the slightest would be dumb not to at least kick the tires. I don't think anyone, Mavs included, has any real expectation of him signing, let alone making an impact on their roster.
