I think Feigen hears a lot of things but in order for him to stay connected with the organiztion he is not allowed to publish it all. Just what they feel ok in letting out.
Well yes to the Rockets front office. But that means he only knows what they let him know. With Cyberx, he's more connected on the agent side of things so its just info coming in from a different angle. And he's been around long enough to where he thinks an Alexy Shved trade proposal for Luc Ridnour and a 2nd round pick (probably a realistic type of Morey deadline deal this year) isn't really worth reporting on until its finalized. Feigan knows the gameplan for the Rockets well, and knows the targets, but like the Rockets has a very conservative feel for what he expects other teams to actually do at the end of the day. Even Morey himself said yesterday that the job in regards to trades is really- "A Whole Lot of Nothing. Its like Sales. You put a bunch out there with the thought that something will fall through in the end, but most of the time its nothing". I think we all know as much as anyone about predicting these trades. We know the Rockets have made calls around the league for players like Goran, Jackson, Kevin Love, etc. etc. etc. What we don't know, and sometimes what Morey doesn't know is if and when teams are ever going to bite on the deal. Feigan much similarly with his reporting kind of brushes off those trade proposals as really nothing to see. Because its is nothing to see. Just Morey being aggressive. Cyberx can hear agent rumors which can be very misleading, but within the context there is some stuff you can get on the fly before it happens when it actually happens. So its great we have him as a resource, but you kind of have to understand the filter for communication and use your best judgement for what it actually means at the end of the day.
I hate when that happens. Pretty obnoxious when you're in the middle of some work and you have to stop everything to wait for the f'n computer to reboot.
Feigen better be out of the loop or lying, otherwise that bit of news is downright scary. Unless Capella breaks out, having Dorsey as the starter or even 1st backup 5 off the bench means Rockets are one and done in post season. Again.
Normally we don't hear about deals until the deadline and in the case of a few Rockets trades recently until after the deadline has passed.
