Even as that is the truth, even at a 23 million dollar contract that would be relative to a 15 million dollar contract now, as a 33 year old PG who relies on speed, athleticism combined with crafty skills, he's almost surely going to be viewed at as one of the worst contracts in the league in about 2 years.

That's totally fine IF the Rockets are perennial title contenders who go deep in the playoffs the next two years.

But the buyer beware sticker really needs to be warning the Rockets that this team will almost surely HAVE TO retool around Harden in a year or two post Dwight's prime, and long term flexibility in these contracts means something.

Harden will still be in his prime in 3 years, and Goran will most likely not be along with Dwight. Goran's contract will extend past Harden's, and could make life difficult to retool.

I'm all for making a run now, but there is definitely a buyer beware stamp that needs to be shared a little more aggressively around here so we don't run the risk of scratching our heads looking for someone to blame in 3 years when we are worried about Harden leaving in free agency.

Exactly. I am a Morey fan and I buy into his program, but at some point it has to be cashed in.

ASSUMING Dwight is going to be healthy (which they know better than I do) now is the time to cash in. Waiting on the Summer of Durant to make your move is an insult.

Not being willing to pay Dragic max money does not mean that you are going to punt two years. There are plenty of other options available. And this year of Dwight might already be punted. Teams get themselves in trouble by rushing to get that last piece and overpaying. Dragic is a very nice player but he is not a superstar. I'm behind trading for him and paying for him but to act like paying that guy $20-25 isn't a big deal isn't something I don't agree with.

Funny how things get quiet right around lunch time and then pick up again right after lunch!

If we could get dragic without giving up DMO, even if we are not on his "preferred list" I think we just have to do it, even if it is just a "rental." We have the MVP, and we don't know how much longer Dwights knees will last. Smoove likely gone next year.. now is the time to go all in. If you don't now, when will you?

And if we can't convince him to stay, or don't want to offer what he is asking, then we got money to spend. I think we just have to pull the trigger if we can.

Phoenix simultaneously wants the NOP lottery pick and wants to help them get better?

I'd be a lot more optimistic if Dwight weren't on a rapid decline right now.

    Windhorst:

(Dragic) Based on right now, best chance is a Boston Celtic. Sacramento may be able to make a better offer.
