True True! I forget we can just throw Brewer on him I'm sure they had enough practice against each other with the Timberwolves

You can't look at it that way. The Rockets would be in a situation where they'd have no cap room anyway, so the actual salary only matters in so much as it impacts their willingness to spend other money under the cap.

The second issue is whether he makes you a title team. If you think he gives you a good chance to win a title over the next 2-3 years, you can't pass that up because of year 5.

If he's bought out, I think he automatically becomes a FA.

When looking at Dragic cap numbers, keep in mind the cap will go up to like 90M in a few years because of the new TV deal. So everything is relative.

Yeah, something doesn't seem right here. I'm sure Morey is willing to offer them something for him. Why would they want to pay him to go away? Unless some agent is doing some back handed deal to get him bought out so he isn't traded to the Rockets. hmmmmmmmm

He would be an unbelievable fit off the bench in Chicago.

I agree if getting Dragic puts in the WCF and Finals picture for the next 3 years it has to be done I am just seeing how it would be later - I just feel that sort of big $ is crazy for a guy who is really good but isnt a foundation piece like Howard and Harden are

Didn't Smith get bought out and we had to wait for him to clear waivers? I could be wrong.

Yep. Realistically...this team as currently constructed doesn't have a big window anyway. Dwight's not going to be Dwight much longer, Smoove might not be back, etc.

I was originally against a Dragic trade without reassurance he'd sign, but the team might not have another opportunity like this. Gotta do it.

The longer I think about Harden and Gogi on the break together, the harder my dick gets...

Smith was waived using the stretch provision.

Its the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen if true. As if Fegan needs more power in the league to pull off this type of BS. This is the same team that gave up a really good 1st round pick to acquire Thadeaus Young for no damn reason so it is what it is. That team doesn't deserve to have lucked out with Wiggin and LeVine.

You could look at it this way...

Harden's contract is a downright steal right now, given his lesser max contract. This allows us to overpay for Dragic to get that final piece.

Smith was waived, not bought out.
