or how t-mac was desperately trying to work a trade to indiana to play alongside o'neal before he ended up in houston.
I just don't think I'll be willing to give substantial assets for a player who allegedly don't want to stay with the team. With Dwight's situation, I think trading D-Mo shouldn't even be considered. But seriously D-Mo, learn to freaking rebound! And maybe improve your free throws, shot blocking and dunking while you're at it. I'm happy I'm not Morey right now haha
Gogi will stay wherever he is traded. No taxes, 5th year, repeated title runs. Morey will also have to overpay which is fine considering you aren't overpaying if you are making title runs.
I'd still go for dragic because I think he can move the needle this year and I think this year may be our best shot. I wouldn't give up dmo because I think he's important for this year as well, but the pick and jones I have no problem moving.
lakers, knicks, heats, and pacers are on dragic's 7 team list. cyber, do you know the remaining teams on that list?
Not really. Dragic isn't gonna be relegated to bench player minutes if he comes here. He'll get 30+ minutes a night. So clearly he'll be on the floor the same time as Harden. Just have him start games and keep him on the floor when Harden goes to the bench. It's very easy to do. And I'd argue we need him more in the starting lineup than off the bench. We routinely get off to slow starts offensively because Bev and Ariza have too many nights where they can't hit the broad side of the barn. And this is only exacerbated by having Dorsey out there on the floor as well. Dragic being out there as a more reliable 3-point shooter and a superior passer and slasher than Bev changes that.
I hope that if we trade for Goran that he doesn't expect for Zoran to get major minutes. Supposedly that is one of the big problems in Phoenix. We are trying to win here champ.
Thanks CyberX, Being in LA, I am not able to hear many whispers about the Rockets. I wish I had your connections! haha
Interesting dynamic here among our insiders -Plow said Dragic comes here cheap. -Doc says we are going in a totally different direction and Dragic is being shady intending to screw us. -Cat thinks we are still the likely spot via the reporter he puts faith in, but at a steep cost. -Cyberx is not making predictions.

He seems like the opposite in person. I'm thinking this is 99% agent driven narrative. Bill Duffy definitely has a history working with Morey and the Rockets. They also don't get that many true superstar players on max contracts in big markets. Goran resembles a big pay day for them as a company if he goes to LA or New York. Keep in mind that all the endorsements and opportunities that come with going to New York or LA help them out financially. Then there is the Pat Bev contract situation as Woj and our own Bima pointed out that is playing a part as well. I sincerely doubt this has anything to do with ill will towards the Rockets and especially the city of Houston. All anyone talks about is how much of a polite class guy Goran was and is. I tend to think its pretty obvious this is 99.9% agent driven.
He got Smith to bite...for the rest of this season. It's a big question whether he'll be back next year. There is no doubt that Dragic will be gone if he has to come off the bench.
