All of those things I agree with if you read into the entirety of what I'm saying. Yes, its a super important role, but it is a role we need to be honest about. But no I am not ignoring the importance of this role. It made a huge difference in the few games that Lin actually performed well in that role last year, but its still a role. Harden is still the man who will have the ball in his hands for good reasons. 2013/14 Goran Dragic from a statistical standpoint isn't happening in that role. Its buyer understanding, uut from my personal opinion, I'm definitely willing to take a gamble, BUT if they don't get Goran I think at the same time being disappointed there will be a sense of relief from a financial standpoint from the sense of needing to retool around Harden in a year or two.
I agree have you heard anything about us still trying to get him? What about Lawson or Isaiah Thomas? Any names flying around that we are really trying to get?
Cyber, what's YOUR prediction on where Dragic ends up? I know it's undecided at this point, but I'm just wondering where YOU feel he'll be traded (if he is).
Start Dragic. Send him to the bench when there's 4 minutes left in the 1st. Harden goes to the bench at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Dragic comes back in. Plays til the 7 minute mark when Harden usually returns. Then Dragic rests til maybe 2-3 minutes left in the quarter. Repeat the same formula in the 2nd half. Dragic winds up playing 30-32 minutes a night. With 10 of those minutes without Harden on the floor. Is that really such a bad situation for him?
Whats the point of cyber telling us about the internal discussions on dragic role if it didnt mean that dragic is coming???

Adding to @ESPNSteinLine reporting. Lakers & Suns talked Dragic last week. Phoenix countered w/ Thomas
— Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne) February 18, 2015
But sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne that the Suns, after fielding the Lakers' pitch for Dragic late last week, countered by offering Thomas to L.A. ‎ESPN.com reported over the weekend that the Suns were actively trying to deal Thomas in hopes of reducing their backcourt logjam and appeasing Dragic, but sources say that the Lakers quickly rebuffed the Thomas proposal, determined to maintain as much salary-cap flexibility as possible to chase the likes of Dragic, Marc Gasol and Rajon Rondo in free agency this summer. If the Lakers feel as though they have the inside track to Dragic in free agency, they could elect to pull out of the current trade hunt and simply wait for July, when they could offer a four-year deal estimated in the $80 million range. Another potential complication for the Lakers is the fact they will forfeit their 2015 first-round pick to the Suns if it falls out of the top five of the lottery as part of the Steve Nash trade in 2012. The Lakers' likely improvement, were they to acquire Dragic this week, would thus endanger their chances of holding onto that pick, which team officials regard as an essential piece to L.A.'s rebuilding efforts around Kobe Bryant. Sources told Shelburne that the Suns are prepared to discuss a Dragic deal with the Lakers this week if L.A. was willing to completely remove the top-five protection currently on that draft pick. The Lakers, sources said, also rejected that proposal. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12340924/phoenix-suns-now-hunt-goran-dragic-trades
Dragic off the bench would be freakin sick! I love the optimism but I don't think Dragic will do that. If he wants max money and doesn't want to win first then I would rather go after someone else.

If you read the Stein update she said that Phoenix asked for the protection to be completely taken off the pick and the Lakers declined that.
No idea. But let's be serious. There is no way in hell Dragic doesn't start if he's traded here. Morey will fire McHale on the spot if he tries to force him into a bench role. Remember, we need to sell the dude on resigning here this offseason which sounds like anything but a done deal with all the reports we're hearing from Dragic's camp. I don't see how bringing him off the bench behind Pat Beverley is gonna help with our pitch.
