Word. What we are doing with Harden just isn't working at all.

When did Harden say that he must play the PG? This can be Dragic's team, but PGs distribute and he better distribute to the best player on the planet: The Beard.

The Stein bit makes me think that Dragic wants to pump up his name recognition and "star power" above all else. If true, Houston would be spectacularly unappealing for him, as he would be lost in the shadow of Harden and Howard.

If Stein isn't just trying to pee in the pool to make the Rockets jump out, and what he reports is true, and I'm not reading too much into it, trading for Dragic would be a really risky thing, as you would have to make him rethink his entire career path.

The Woj statement about preferred destinations seems to add weight to that. Now Dragic may be making a mistake by thinking that he can go to LA or NY and be "the man" on the big stage, but he won't figure that out until he's already signed and left Houston high and dry.

Can anybody really make a case that resigning with Houston would be at all appealing if Dragic's goal in free agency is to become a #1 option on a team in a large market? Honestly, if that's his goal, it might even be less appealing than returning to Phoenix.

This is suddenly feeling to me like the first time around that DM was chasing Dwight, and Dwight wanted nothing to do with Houston, but had stars in his eyes for LA or Brooklyn.

If it's just about Max money, the Rockets can work their magic, but if he's got his mind set on going somewhere with maximum exposure, where he can be the number one guy, be the face of the franchise and get paid when it comes to endorsements, there's no way DM can finesse that.

Can we trade for him and if he wants out in the summer, do a S&T with giving him something like 80/5 years? We'd own his Bird rights afterall.

Very reasonable perspective. (Must spread rep.)

Dragic, like all athletes, has a small window to maximize his career earnings and being the top dog on a max contract in on of the biggest major markets is one way to get the money fast. I don't blame him for going that route. But being one of the top dogs on a championship team in a major market can also work wonders for the pocket book.

I cannot wait to laugh in the faces of whatever team decides to give him for years, 80 million or five years 100 million...

Even if it's us? Say, after Goran runs our team directly into the NBA Finals? Then hoists it's trophy over his head?

You guys are overrating Dragic big time.

He wants a max deal, he is not worth a max deal.

While I agree that he does not deserve a max contract when you have no stars on your team.

In Houstons situation it does not matter if he gets the max or 10 mil since we will be over the cap anyway. I want us to trade for him and see if Les was serious when he said he would go into luxery taks for the right player.

Guys that can get you to that next level are worth every penny. Especially if they can do it for a few years in a row. Phoenix sucks last year without him. I mean, terrible. He carried that team to 9th place and a winning record in the west. Not bad. He has big games against good teams. That's a max player in my book.

$20M is more like $16M with cap hike after 2016 summer, that's Parsons-ish salary.

I don't see problem him getting $16M per if Dragic is all we need to get over the hump.

Disappointed that Dragic wouldn't want to play for a winner. For shame, Gogi. For shame.

Too bad Miami isn't relevant anymore. You know, the only team Hibbert was good against.

After watching the ASG, Harden can play the SG position very well with a PG who can play the PG position very well.

dragic is not serious about winning if this winds up true. La and NY are years aaway from being a contender
