Did he really just say that Dragic would not start over Beverley? Wow and this guy has a job at ESPN.

Because he's an uninformed moron who never watches the Rockets play? That's the best guess I can come up with.

Scoop Jackson seems to know very little about the teams he's talking about. He's probably more of a transactions guy and less of an actual basketball guy. He mentioned that we have too much talent and then named Beverley and Ariza as our talented players. He then says that the Rockets would be adding "another 20 ppg guy." Far as I know, we've only got one 20ppg and he needs help ASAP.

def, bev dominated. Absolutely destroyed the competition. Im afraid that LA or NY might offer Bev a fat contract. I hope not, hes to valuable now. Mchale is going to have him run the show now, dragic aint playing no second fiddle

Scoop on Dragic going to the Rockets: "I don't know. Can you win with more talent than is necessary?"

Yeah, cuz that's the biggest problem facing the Rockets should they acquire Dragic. They'd have too much talent. Hey, dipscrew. They need a PG. A rotation of Bev and Terry(Canaan doesn't count since McHale won't play him) ain't gonna get it done in a conference with Curry, Lillard, Westbrook, Parker, Conley, Rondo, and Paul.

Forget about the Bev comment, I'm still trying to recall this "time in history" (according to Scoop Jackson) when "the 76ers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers." due to too much talent.

Hell, I'm trying to figure out the last time the 76ers ever lost in the Finals when they had more talent, much less to Portland.

The only team that can offer him max money and a chance to 'compete' for the playoffs are the Heat.

Wade is done within 2 years. A combo of Dragic and Bosh could be 'perfect'.

The Heat have several players the Suns would like, for example Deng. Lakers and Knicks have nothing to offer the Suns anyway, except draft picks.

Now since Dragic and Suns open their mouths, Dragic's value has taken a major hit. From the teams he has mentioned, NO ONE WILL give considerable assets to get him, given that they could just sign him to the max come summer time.

Secondly, the Rockets have to thread with caution now, as Dragic, as seen from his viewpoint that the Rockets are trigger happy and will trade players mid contract, makes him a rental. That being said, the rental part, and and his value taking a hit, THERE IS NO WAY THE ROCKETS TRADE DMO to the suns. Phoenix is in a corner, and have to trade dragic, or get nothing out of him when the season ends. At worst, the Rockets trade Jones and Pels 1st for dragic. D Morey is a smart man, and heavy lifting part was taken out the picture right when the news dropped about Dragic's decision.

BEST CASE SCENARIO: The Rockets trade Jones+Pels 1+Cannan or Capella. Dragic plays out this year, and also opts in for the $7.5 next year and waits to get paid. 2016-2017 rolls around, The rockets get this big fish FA, give Dragic the money, and also sign Howard to a lesser contract given that he also opts out.

Wishful thinking. :D. for the Record, I would go all in for Ty Lawson RIGHT NOW if the opportunity came about.

BDA Sports reps 3 best FA guards - Dragic, Rondo, Beverley. Dragic trade to Rockets hurts Beverley's earning power. Lot of dynamics in play.

So BDA is tradeblocking the Rockets? Les needs to get on the phone with Yao ASAP.

@WojYahooNBA: Suns traded Dragic away, and he re-signed with them. That could give Rockets hope to pursue a deal regardless -- and sell Dragic again.

Condensed your post to the points I want to address:

Yeah , PHX can pretty much forget about getting much in return for Dragic now - That ship has sailed. PHX aint getting a 1st rounder for him now , damn sure not a lottery pick and DMo should never have been in the conversation.

They do have to be very careful .... The biggest issue is that they cant create much cap space this offseason so if they are going attempt to improve A) it has to be done at this trade deadline and B) it cant be a rental , they have to use this opportunity to improve next years roster too because of the earlier stated fact , they cant create much cap space in the coming offseason.

They also have to be mindful of that 2016 offseason with its cap expansion. That could be a huge opportunity to add significant talent while not losing any.

I like the idea of Lawson but his contract extends beyond the 2016 cap expansion / FA spending bonanza. You'd have to offload that contract to get in on the action. It's likely going to cost you an asset to unload to one of the losers of that FA bonanza.

Dwight has a player option for that season , if you get him to exercise that option it opens up a huge amount of cap space where you could pick up a premier player and possibly an Ariza type contract (in terms of cap percentage , not actual dollars) and then resign Dwight (even if it is for a reduced amount).

I think the best case scenario is getting Dragic for pennies on the dollar due to the Suns loss of leverage , possibly the 2 second round picks (NYK & Denver) and matching salary (Shved & one of KPap / Terry).
Then getting Dragic to accept a two year max deal with the second year a player option allowing him and the team to be players in FA in that 2016 cap expansion.
