While I'm fairly confident saying Jones/Pap/2nd doesn't get a deal done at all... Hypothetically speaking...you have to do that deal even just for a rental. Dwight' window is too short, and those are not significant pieces in a title run this year.
it is. He basically is publicly turning down Morey. The team with the most assets and most interest is someone he is not interested in resigning with- from the leaks. This is something common with small market bad teams. But with a contender from a big market like Houston? Definitely sticking it to Morrey.
Sacramento wants Dragic Phoenix wants first round pick and all-star potential player okay Dragic > Sacramento Stauskas + future pick> Phoenix Collisons > Houston get it done i actually want George Hill
He's really sticking it to himself if you think about it. Getting stuck playing out the end of your prime on the Knicks, Lakers, or Heat is a pretty awful punishment....or rather, any player that cared about winning would see it that way.
Or maybe he didn't like sharing the ball with Bledsoe and realized it would be the same in Houston with Harden?
Yeah, and it's going to be more than that especially if Sactown gets involved. That team is dumb enough to do something stupid and really it's a move they NEED to make, that Cousins clock is ticking for them. They need to be a good team next season, so they are going to make a desperation move.
Certainly says more about his priorities in getting paid and getting that spotlight than winning ball games doesn't it?
I figured the Kings finally getting new owners and management meant they were a changed team. Nope. Same old Kings!
no way in hell Houston surrenders anything worthwhile in that scenario unless we're shipping Jones off to Phoenix with Sacramento giving us a future 1st Rounder or something.
He could. Or the Lakers could just keep tanking. They don't even have to put Dragic on the floor. Just make up some BS injury. Teams do this kind of stuff. Kyrie somehow always gets "injured" late in the season when the Cavs didn't benefit from wins. We'll see how the offers shake down. My sense is a bunch of the talk (whether leaked through the media or between the parties involved) is posturing to try and create some leverage.
This team doesn't need a huge talent upgrade. They just need a PG that can help us close out games. Jarrett Jack did a very good job closing out games with Curry. Could be had for cheap because it would save Brooklyn a huge amount of money from luxury tax penalties. Would also give us a consistent shot-creator when Harden is on the bench. He's been balling as of late. Darren Collison would be a very very underrated pickup. His assist totals aren't high, but he gets the ball into good positions for his teammates. Would Kings actually give him up? If they want Dragic, maybe try to facilitate a 3-team trade? Just some random names
