There's a difference between CyberX and DocRocket: CyberX says when he hears inside information and will say when he hasn't heard anything. Doc tweets stuff that makes no sense and is so vague that if anything happens he can be seen as an insider. If he knew what he was talking about he'd rub it in these "outsiders" faces that they were wrong. One has actual credibility, the other is ripped by "outsiders" because people are gullible enough to believe that he's an insider.
You're right, this is the NBA. It's professional basketball. It's a business and players should be concerned about their financial welfare. He wants max money and Houston can't/won't give it to him, because he's not worth it. Rockets should go after Lawson. He would help this team more anyway, plus he has a better contract. Don't think he's available though, but he might be if the right package comes along.
I understand that, but the rockets have developed a bit of a reputation for high roster turnover, and Dragic clearly doesn't feel like he was properly valued here.
He's heading where the money is. That's what Bosh did. That's what Melo did. Dragic wants to get paid. Game of Thrones on a Dynex ain't cutting it anymore.
I think Rox can't give Dragic NTC in current CBA Maybe max contract + 15% trade kicker can convice him stay. Doubt Daryl willing to give him and make his contract un-tradable.
But even still... if he's worth max money, then why would the Rockets trade him? If he doesn't live up to his max money contract, then nobody will trade for him with that contract anyway. So there would be no logical reason for him to be traded.
Hell he'd be untradeable at max-money now, much less a few years from now. No chance he'll get moved but even if he does it's the NBA & he'll get a handsome ransom!
Not eligible for a no-trade clause. It’s a privilege, remember, that NBA players can earn only after spending eight seasons in the league -- four with the same team -- and only when the clause is specifically negotiated into a new deal. League rules state that any player who signs an offer sheet with a new team in restricted free agency and then sees that offer sheet matched by the incumbent team can’t be traded without his consent for one full year after the offer sheet was matched. The third and final category is made up of players on one-year contracts whom we like to refer to in-house as One-Year Birds. That's mainly because -- even after doing this exercise year after year after year -- we still haven't come up with a more free-flowing way to describe players on one-year deals who can't be traded without their consent because they've signed with the same team two seasons (or more) in a row. At least we can explain why the rule exists. Players in these circumstances -- having re-signed on a new one-year deal with their previous employer -- would have to forfeit their free-agent Bird rights if traded elsewhere before the end of the current season. League rules thus dictate that such players have to be asked for their permission before they can be thrown into a trade, which gives them a measure of the clout possessed by a Kobe or a KG between now and the deadline.
So the guy asking for a trade doesn't want to come to a contender, possibly a favorite with him as an addition, out of fear of being traded? LOL
Then leave the thread. You're crowding out posts too. Doc called Brewer and Smith IN ADDITION to Dwight. This same attitude ran off Batman when he gave a nugget of information (which, btw, seems to be TRUE given recent developments). Clutch shuts **** down when there's a fraud (see Drew, Progs etc.). It's an insult to Clutch to say Doc is a fraud, given his well-known reputation on this forum. It's one thing for a 1 bar douche from 2013 or sooner to be complaining. It's another level of embarrassment for a poster with your caliber doing so. Don't believe it? Don't have to. Don't ruin it for those who like the tidbits.
If Dragic plays at an all-star level, to the value of his contract, and helps this team go deep into the playoffs him being traded wouldn't be likely. In the end, it is up to him.
Which is either him being very moronic about how a MAX contract changes his trade value or just people throwing crap out there for ****s and giggles. I assume it's the latter and hope it's not the former.
lol i understand dragic concern. I really think he just need to chat with our front office and he will be fine
Didn't Cods last post today hint at him being skeptical about a deal getting done with Phoenix? Or more so hopeful? Anyone remember what was in rest of the pos?
Gotcha, but Morey had to do what he had to do to get Harden & Howard here. The roster should begin to stabilize once the core has been identified.
The Lakers are not going to trade for Dragic. They need to finish bottom 5 to keep and use their 1st round pick. Why bring him in this season and jeopardize that? Lakers can sign him as FA after this season. Win/win for LAL.
