You are thinking too narrowly. One of Dragic's key qualities is being able to run the fast break and push the tempo. The Rockets style will guarantee a ton of that. He may sacrifice to Harden a bit in the half-court, but he'll get a ton of touches when it's early in the shot clock before the defenses are set. Also, Dragic will take away all of Ariza and Beverley's current attempts at (terrible) playmaking. Think of him replacing Lin+Parsons.

He wants to run his own team. Ain't gonna happen here. He can go to the Lakers and be on a lottery team for years.... Not smart if he does that
I still think it's worth the gamble if we do have to give up just Jones at the max. One of Jones/Dmo was going to be gone next season because of future contract extensions etc. Albeit I'm almost 70% sure if we get him, he will bolt to LA

That may be the case, but I don't see any reason the lakers should surrender any of their assets for something they could outright buy in free agency
Doesn't Stein's tweet indicate that Dragic (and not the Rockets) is not interested in securing a long term contract together?
Stein has been known to be a fool in the past. I think he is assuming Dragic wants nothing to do with sharing touches with Harden.
