Feels like Cyber isn't as connected with camp Dragic as he is with others. Which is ok, can't have info on everybody.
The Suns are gonna keep Dragic! Isaiah Thomas will be moved in the summer before re-signing Dragic. Gives them more time to find the right trade for IT.
What is this meeting you speak of? Who is involved and what would they be speaking about most likely?
Dragic's agent is meeting with the Suns' GM, they'll probably ask for a guarantee that Dragic will stay if they ditch IT.....I don't think they'll get one.
I wonder if Goran will skype in or something or if it'll just be agent and Suns. Cause the G-Man is still in Hawaii isn't he?
I imagine the point of today's meeting is either window dressing or a last ditch effort to convince Dragic to stay. Either way, there's no more negotiating to do. Phoenix has all the offers on the table, and they know where they are trading Dragic if they can't get on the same page. I believe Shved can be traded tomorrow, so I wouldn't be surprised if we had some resolution by tonight.
If i was Dragic i would be upset that the Suns were pressuring me into a decision right now. If I was the suns i would be upset that Dragic's upset. This relationship just won't work.
My question is, WHY did the suns sign IT if they had Dragic and Bledsoe? The only explanation is that they knew theyd lose 1 of Dragic or Bledsoe and Bledsoe is already signed so....
Have the rules on 5-year extensions changed? It is, or was, just one to a team, yes? On draft night one of the Lakers or Knicks is liable to wind up with Mudiay; if so, one team is eliminated. Do the Knixies have room to pay Monroe (destined to be a Knixie, destined I say) and another full rates? BTW - - I missed seeing PJax or Kupchak or anyone else in their organizations say they would max out GD.
What I don't get is why would they want to keep Dragic? I know he's a hometown guy and fan favorite, but he's already 29 and the Suns are headed nowhere fast. Signing Dragic to a max contract would make it all but impossible to improve the team. I really doubt they're going to want to waste another 5 years. Dragic is gone. I'm not sure if that means he's coming here, but I really really doubt he's there by the start of next season.
If Suns offer him max for 5 years. Gogi is staying. He never got a massive pay-day. Suns control his destiny. The reason I think the holdup is.. this offer is not on the table and the meeting is to see if they can reach a middle ground. I don't care how much the cap is going up.. $20 million is a LOT of money for Gogi especially when you have another maxed out PG and 0-All-Stars.
I think the explanation is that they got IT on a good deal and wanted to let everything else work it's way out. Much like the theory in the draft of taking the best available player regardless of position. Still pretty weird, cause they had just drafted Ennis as well.
