I don't think he's talking about Sam Presti when he says someone Morey has already burned. Morey did a bit more than burn Presti
I hate the Mavs too(although not as much as in the Finley days). But we're approaching a 20 year title drought. And we have 1 playoff series win in almost 18 years. I'll take the championships over regular season victories over Dallas.
For the summer of 2016 the Rockets currently have $47,826,675 tied up. This does not include any team options or cap holds due to qualifying offers. I do not think it is unreasonable to believe that Morey will be willing to take on a bad contract so long as it does not interfere with having the cap room to make a max offer to KD. if the cap rises as high as Zach Lowe mentioned earlier (>90mil), the Rockets could take on $22,331,135 (Williams) more in additional salary for 2016/2017 and still be able to offer KD a contract starting at about 20mil. If Ariza is unloaded, that number jumps up by 7.4 million. So while Williams seems like horrible value given his age/contract, it is not totally unreasonable to believe Morey would gamble on him. Would just about any other point guard mentioned be better? Yes, I believe so. Does Morey think that? ... I hope so.
i wouldnt doubt that it hurts harden's mvp chances dating amber rose. some people judge people, and it leads to them being impartial.
Look, I wish we could evacuate the city of Dallas (sending them all to Norman), burn down everything, and salt the earth so nothing grows there again, but... Our trophies have been together for nearly twenty years. They're a solid couple, but their relationship is getting stale. They desperately need a menage a trois.
So, Woj was on Fox Sport 1 expanding a bit on the Dragic situation around 4:30. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Joining <a href="https://twitter.com/FOXSports1">@FOXSports1</a> to report on the latest with Amar'e Stoudemire and Goran Dragic. Coming up now.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/567450992233680896">February 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Did anyone catch it?
Lol, unfortunately I live in Dallas now, own real estate here, own a small business, pastor at a church here, and raise my family here. Can't say burning it all down is my hope....mav tears yes I'll gladly swim in those. Alas I'm in the same place, the Chip is what it's about. It helps that doing so just rubs salt in mavs nations inferiority complex.
The odd thing is, Reggie Jackson may be a good fit for the Rockets, given the price. I put him on the Brandon Knight level, with Lawson/Dragic being a tier above in terms of who I want.
Safe to assume SOMETHING is happening and we're definitely not standing pat. Thanks cyberx for keeping us all excited!
FWIW, from perusing the Phoenix sites, Suns GM is considered a highly likely Woj source. So take it with a grain of salt because no matter what they truly think, there's no way Phoenix says anything besides "we want to re-sign Dragic." The key info would be after the meeting and Dragic's agent leak (or don't leak) their side of the results. If on Wednesday we hear "Dragic and Suns worked out their differences," that's when Morey should look elsewhere.
J.R. posted the quick summary earlier, there wasn't anything really useful that hasn't been covered in these other posts/tweets.
While not the popular target definitely the more realistic and least costly. If god is really good JET and the 2nd rounders may do this. For Dragic like I said before IMO would take a 3 team deal likely involving Enas Kanter.
