Josh Smith has never caused locker room problems (SVG said straight up there were no blow ups or anything), let alone have an issue with failing multiple drug tests and abusing animals. And I live in colorado and have no problem with smoking weed (I use it). I just think that when you're getting drug tests and know when the drug tests will be you have to be pretty dull to fail them and let your team down when you're getting paid so much.

He definitely shows his lack of morals with the dog incident. It was less severe than what I originally thought. Dude just isn't responsible enough for animals

Josh Smith was an unknown. He was playing his own game when he was Detroit, out of position. He came in and wanted to start, did not do well at all. But, it's good to see he's been "humbled" after being waived, put in a bench role, and instructed to mimic DMo's contributions. Who knows how much Dwight was in his ear convincing him to conform. Larry Sanders has MAJOR off-the-court issues without any ties to us (as far as I know). Maybe months ago, because he DID play at VCU with Troy Daniels....not that it matters anymore lol

Animal rights is a big deal to Les and his wife, so if allegations of animal abuse are true or even really out there beyond just rumors, I'd be stunned if the Rockets went near him.

I'd pay him $8 an hour.

This. He would be worth a minimum for his physical talent alone but the cruelty to animals issue would be a non starter for Les.

I'm not basing this on fact or anything really, but I feel like McHale would be able to handle an attitude like this. Could be wrong. Also, like others have noted.....Joey Dorsey. If we can land him without having to trade assets for him, we can have our back up rim protector and then just use our assets for that PG we're coveting.

On the other hand, I wouldn't want to bring a player that could potentially cause a problem a teammate, especially cuz I feel like Harden is more of the chill type leader in the locker room and a confrontational player could do damage.

I remember listening to a zach lowe podcast about 2 years ago and he was making the claim that larry sanders is the best defensive player in the NBA only behind Howard.

2 years later and clutch fans don't want him even if it really costs us nothing. SMH

if he's interested in playing, i can see him getting motivated by playing with harden and making an impact..maybe he just needs a change of scene..

Further, it was Josh Smith's failure of not being able to be the #1 option and living up too that contract that got him the heat. But the true failure of that situation was the Pistons front office and coaching staff.

He never should have been offered that much. If, he's the #1 guy than get players around him that can play his style. Don't ask him to change his style and play a position he's uncomfortable at and develop a perimeter game.

I dig Josh his D, Focus and Intensity on the team seems to have improved (Brewer helps too), seems more confident, having fun
