I don't think it was a snub. If he finished with 35 or 36 I think you could call it a snub. Westbrook had a great game, I think Harden had the better game but Westbrook tore it up. It is a silly award anyway. I doubt Harden cared about it like Westbrook did.

I think WB is going to take Kobe's spot on the team who takes the majority of the shots. Last night he took over 20% of the shots for the team... in an All-Star game...coming off the bench. That's as Kobe as it gets. Of course, a lot of his shots were dunks and easy buckets. But still, he decided he wanted to shoot and did so. Harden was so impressive last night. When LeBron was trying so hard in the first quarter, Harden was matching him point for point, play for play without even too interested in the game. When Westbrook exploded in the 1st half, Harden was practically matching him again without not even breaking a sweat. He had to compete with Curry and Thompson taking shots and had try-hard LBJ guarding him, yet out-performed all of them. Truly impressive showing by Harden.
Its not like Harden blew him out of the water. My opinion is subjective because I am a Rockets fan. Could have gone to either guy. Award doesn't matter anyway, the game and the award don't mean ****
I can't get over this "to me...Klay Thompson is the best two way two guard in the league". I heard some of the game on ESPN radio, and one of the commentators even said "See Klay is a guy that gets up for games that matter. This game doesn't matter which is why he is not playing so well". Smh. Or maybe he doesn't belong with the elites. Meanwhile, when Harden is grouped with other elites, he shines as one of the best.
Last night's game should make everyone ask the following question: "if Harden played with a better backcourt mate...would his number be even more impressive?" This is the very fact that most MVP voters so far have completely overlooked/disregarded. If Klay Thompson wasnt there, Curry would not be as proficient. A player like Dragic wouldnt just take the stress of Harden in creating shots; he would instantly create better opportunities for everyone around him. Teams would no longer be able to trap Harden at the halfcourt line. Dragic's ability to attack the paint put a tremendous amount of stress against opponents. Teams trying to cheat off Dwight or Josh will get punished. Our shooters will get more wide open looks.
Indeed Westbrook wasn't looking to pass period. Lol that's why they said he wanted it more. I call BS on that.
Harden had the better game overall. The numbers 4 and 1 put together are just too pretty to not give the MVP award to. If Westbrook shot the ball 50 times and had 70 points in a win it would still look mighty impressive even though it wasn't efficient. If you compared it to a game where someone shoots a perfect 10/10 for 20 points you should still choose the 70 points
While it's good that Bayless is finally showing Harden some love, it is down right silly of him and First Take to even be discussing if WB deserved to win the MVP. Stephen A saying WB had a more impactful game is downright silly too. Harden had a better game. WB had more shots and scored more. If that makes him the MVP, so be it.
Russell Westbrook put on a show... whether he was efficient or not... he put on a show... Thats how you get All Star MVP.
