Right, I think the guy I was responding to just wanted to know the technical date. Any deals involving shved now can be made in principle and executed by the deadlone.
I figure LA will go stronger for Kevin Love. I doubt Dragic gets a bigger deal than Lowry (11-12 mil/per)
Agree with this but also think Jones & Donatas starting could a super high energy starting five that can all handle the ball very well
I think what makes the most sense for everybody is Dragic to Rox for a playoff push, then to Los Angeles in the offseason. If I'm Dragic this allows me to at least chase a ring this season. He makes the same amount of money this season regardless of who he is playing for. If I'm Houston this allows us to make a push this season and see how Dwight's knee plays out. No need to go all in for the next two years unless we are not serious contenders. If I'm the Lakers, I would want NOTHING to do with Dragic this season. Dragic could win them enough games to lose their lottery pick. Is 30 games of Dragic on a lost season worth giving up a top 4 pick in the draft? Remember, if Lakers pick isn't top five they have to give it to Phoenix. If I'm Phoenix I would love for Dragic to go to LA and bring in a 6 or 7 pick. Dragic to LA only makes sense for Phoenix. They could just be using LA as leverage for more assets from Houston.
For everyone thinking dragic will come here and the starter it won't happen until next year, most likely. McHale doesn't have the personality of a coach who just replaces his reliable starter of the past year. But because Bev lacks so much in the assist and points game they will probably share equal minutes. Would love to see a beverly dragic harden dmo dwight lineup on the floor at times. Would be a great grouping if we are needing to come from behind
if the rockets do in fact acquire Dragic, can they afford to keep him for the following years? he'll ask 12-14 million - can they afford him?
It's better to lock him up before the new TV deal. Even if it is for 12-14 that could be a relatively cheap contract compared to the new super mad contracts which will be coming. That's why lebron will sign another 1 yr deal only to sign the crazy max deal in 2016. I
To be fair, this topic usually pertains to players that would undoubtedly command a max contract when they hit free agency. Not sure if that's the case this time.
