'Fifty Shades' to Dominate Valentine's Day Box Office

If you see that movie, you have no respect for women. I'd rather watch the Spongebob movie.

 

Since 95% of the people watching will be women, does that mean they don't have self respect?

as someone who appreciates actual bdsm i have no patience for this watered down bull****. mommies deserve good p*rn just like everyone else. how sad that a poorly written, manipulative harlequin romance is one of the few actually successful attempts to put s/m in the mainstream

Looks like two good reasons to avoid the theater this weekend. That Spongebob crap is pretty astute counter-programming, though.

I was at my 7 year old's school Valentine's Day party a few hours ago. When I arrived the kids were still at their music class and the classroom was filled with moms. One of them brought up the movie and it was really pretty funny to watch them each try to decide how much they wanted to reveal of what they thought of it.

The one that brought it up kept trying to let everyone know that it wasn't THAT over the top because if it was then SHE would have walked out. Most of the rest in the room claimed to not have read the book but they were probably gonna go see the movie. Except I could tell the way they were acting that most had read the book or at least skimmed through and read the parts that would get em all moist. I just kind of stood back and watched them all try to pretend like it wasn't a turn on for them.

 

I watched it . Thought it was good.

 

Saw it, extremely hyped up with the sex scenes by the media and critics, was kind of a dull movie too.

I'm taking a girl to go see "Kingsman: The Secret Service".

 

The irony is that a lot of the girls I know that are all about femenism and how guys are just after one thing, go and secretly buy this crap and hide it in their drawer. The funniest was when I found out, "Oh it belongs to a friend that just left it there, I love jesus."

 

I hope that girl is your sister.

 

No, why? She doesn't want to see 50 Shades and between the two of us, we've seen everything else that out and good.

 

Ah okay. In my experience, even if a girl is into the geeky stuff, they still want to see something more romantic on Valentine's day.

 

Good compromise - you get to see fights and explosions and she gets to see handsome young men.

 

Yesterday on KFAN MN Sports Talk radio, I heard a commercial for the Vermont Teddy Bears "50 Shades of Grey" Valentines Teddy Bear. It comes with its own pair of tiny handcuffs.
